There was a CLIENT COPY stamp on it, which could mean a number of people including him.

2005 is also probably too early to be of much interest from the Russian angle.

Back to Russia/CIA, tomorrow Comey is supposed to confirm/deny an FBI investigation. Not much there beyond the headline.

Seems like the FEC should launch its own investigation as well. We never hear from them.

Of course, their purview is based on finance (which should still be investigated). Treason is kind of outside their jurisdiction.

The FEC does absolutely nothing, ever. Election laws don’t really matter.

Agreed, but they sure should. We should be way more aware of them and paying attention to them than any social legislation because they control who is elected and how. I guess that nuance isn’t sexy.

That 2005 return is so obviously “leaked” intentionally that it isn’t even funny. Shame on Maddow for jumping on it like it was some kind of awesome exclusive. I’d be willing to bet that 2005 is the year where Trump paid the highest amount of taxes in his whole life.

But hey, now his supporters, and GOP senators, can point to that 2005 tax document and say “See? Why are you pushing for his tax returns? There is already proof that he has been paying his taxes. Nothing to see here. Move along”.

Russians! Hacking! Shocker!

I always feared the coding skills that brought us Space Rangers 2 and Hard Truck Apocalypse had a dark side.

FEC had been deadlocked at 2-2 for 6 years because the Senate never conformed Obama’s nominee. This allowed Gingrich to get away with co mingling millions in campaign donations with his personal funds, among other things.

So, Maddow is getting slammed this morning. Any idea why she fell for this?

Because she’s a dumbass anchor on MSNBC? Was Rachel Maddow ever a well-respected journalist?

She may be many things but “dumb” isn’t certainly one of them

That whole segment was idiotic. She knew it was a nothing-burger but played it up anyway. She should have made it a 5-minute segment, but instead we had hype hype hype and then letdown. She should have known that was what was going to happen.

That was no better than the silly sideshows Sheriff Arpaio called a bunch of times to talk about Obama’s birth certificate. It discredits the whole idea. Definitely a big step back for the tax returns drive last night.

If Trump leaked them on purpose it was a masterful strategy.

Yeah, sure, she has a doctorate from Oxford. She’s not “dumb” but I reserve the right to call her a “dumbass” especially after last night’s stupidity.

The thing is, even when the FEC does stuff, the fines are trivial.

It’s like, “Well, you illegally took millions in campaign contributions… so we’re going to fine you FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!”

The punishments are trivial to the extent that it makes sense to violate campaign finance laws, because even if you get caught it won’t matter.

Has the FEC ever actually sent anyone to jail?

She made a dumb decision but she’s also not in the business of convincing millions of mouth breathers why it’s important to vote for lawmakers who whoact solely in the interest of the super wealthy. Unlike her conserve counterparts at Fox, Rachael has no problem admitting fault and apologizing unlike O’Reilly and Hannity who live by the repubiclan rule of never appologize and never admit fault because that will make you appear weak in the eyes of Supply Side Jesus.

SR2 is pretty awesome (though a bit inscrutable–I wish I had a sure fire way to prevent having my budget busted by repair costs), but was Hard Truck Apocalypse really that good?

I dunno, I was just casting about in my brain for Crazy Russian Games.

It all starts with Tetris, man! Trump is playing the long game here
