‘Surprises’ become less welcome as you age. Most surprises are bad.
This one, though :)

What a tremendous result, it’s a great win and will only sow more division within the GOP ranks which you never know might lead to actual bipartisanship on very important global issues over the next couple of years.
Ossoff’s lead up to ~9,500.
I still can’t believe it! Thank you, Georgia.

I avoided this thread and all news sites until now and to say that I’m excited and very happy is an understatement. FUCK YEA!
Mitch McConnell can go fuck himself now.
It makes me happy to know that many of us here on QT3 gave $$ as I recall all the excitement after Biden won and many of us opened up our pocket books. For those of you who were able to donate your time and your passion, THANK YOU.
And I absolutely love that dancing up there that @Woolen_Horde linked. So fun!
I know that Moscow Mitch absolutely detested DJT before this, and it’s heartwarming to know that he hates him even more tonight.
Look for the Trump party to abolish the runoffs, since they have proven ineffective.
Someone give Stacey Abrams a goddamn promotion tomorrow, please.

So how long can McConnell draw out seating them?
Ossoff’s lead up to almost 13,000 now.

For Warnock, assuming he holds steady at a greater than 0.5% lead, not long at all, unless the Georgia electoral officials dick around, which I think is unlikely given gestures at everything the last few days. If Ossoff wins by less than 0.5% there will be a mandatory recount but that took like 10-14 days in November IIRC. Shenanigans are possible but I would guess Warnock will be sworn in by mid to late January and Ossoff by early to mid Feb, at the latest.

You’re waking up a minority tomorrow. Sleep well, Mitch McConnell.
Funny, Moscow Mitch supposedly told his benefactors that Biden would get no wins. No idea if that’s true, but Mitch may be disappointed if if it is.
He can blame DJT.

Head of the DNC is the perfect role for her right now. First competent one we’d have since Howard Dean.
Congrats guys, assuming this holds. For the first time in a decade or so, feels like the US may finally start moving in the right direction again. Even if there are still absolute idiots in the Democratic caucus, people that one can talk and reach a compromise with are an entirely different thing than the irresponsible and criminal farce that the GOP has been perpetuating for the past many years.
