I consider them well.

If they seat then quickly, you actually could have an impeachment trial in the Senate.

Isn’t it 50/50 when they get seated though? Pence would be the tie breaker before the 20th.
Edit oh wait it’s 2/3 anyway for removal
I wonder if there are some currently seated Republican Senators who may want to have any Trump candidacy distractions taken off the plate for 2024 definitively though. (Ben Sasse says: “Did someone say my name?”)

Can we roll out these gifs now?

Nor did I!
That’ll sure make it a little easier on the whole certification/swearing in thing.

Curious how much Wednesday factored into both concessions. Seeing how the winds are blowing (nationally and in Georgia) and thinking “nah, I might have a career ahead of me” instead of pressing the issue.
Good news, regardless!
I bet the 1/6 mob incident had a lot do with it. Before that it did look like the new standard Trump might leave behind is: never concede. But I think the Republican party seems to want to distance themselves from that ethos now.
Imagine how different things would have been if election night had ended with Biden having won the Presidency and the Dems having held the House and won the Senate. Good grief, the last two months!
I recognize that reference!

It certainly diminished their ability to exploit fear of a 3/5 mob.
I’m reminded that one of Obama’s flaws was his totally hands-off relationship with Congress, even with the Senate and House Dems. Remember, he was only a Senator for a couple years before he got elected president. I think it certainly didn’t help his agenda.
Biden, though, knows the legislative process backwards and forwards, and has many more ties in Congress. He will know how to get things through, especially with control of both houses.
