Maryland has sunk into the sea, Texas is Utah and Wisconsin doesn’t even exist.

CNBC is really good at things.

The fact that it went live at all is insanity, but par for the course over there.

Well map boondoggle aside, I would like to see the state breakdown in numbers rather than color scale.

Also, shocker, the deep south is a primary culprit.

Ah but Wisconsin does exist. Apparently Wyoming rehomed them to West Virginia, who apparently took over Washington, who then absconded with Virginia. Maine moved to Louisiana, Hawaii is now landlocked and took over Georgia, who slid down to Florida. Indiana jumped Illinois who in turn grabbed Idaho. New Hampshire apparently coveted Nevada’s gambling resources, In fact looking over this map, it seems the only land untouched from this land grab was California. That map is hilarious.

But they got Alaska right, dammit!

Lake-effect something or other in Hamburg, NY

Eh, skeptical. Look at the normal houses in the background. Looks more like somebody sprayed their houses during a freeze.

There’s an article on CNN about it, with a video: https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/01/us/lake-erie-ice-houses-frozen-trnd/index.html

The ones that were shielded by these houses and aren’t as close to the lake?

Fake freeze! Those bastards trying to fake us 'mericans out!

Guy got pulled over recently in Slidell. Told the officer he’d been busy, and would take care of it as soon as he got home.

I initially posted this in the random thoughts thread, but reckon its better placed here:

I’m always a sucker for amazing “dad jokes” style store names / signage…
On my trip to Dublin this past weekend I spotted these fine establishments.

Then you might like this place in Ohio

Nice! Though it looks pretty fancy for a pie shop!?

I guess its a question of what kind of pies we are talking about. For me I only think of a small savoury pastry to eat on the go, while I understand the american approach is more like a large fruit based confection that you cut into slices. (Might be too much of generalization of course.)

The word pie, in the US, is pretty much any round food that is cut into triangular slices. I would agree it is usually a fruit-based dessert dish, but pizza is also a pie.

“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore!”

I’m … hungry

opieo needs to be a real state, where is that map where people couldn’t find where ohio was, just add opieo to a few of them states.
