But backing out is not easier on you as I jam my tow ball in your grille as you impatiently wait for me to clear your space. Had I backed in, I would be nosing out, with a good clean view of all impatient motherfuckers looking to claim the place I am in the process of vacating.
Suffice to say, I always back it in if there’s room and time to do so. Having learned to do it with a lorry, I can squeeze my corolla in amazingly cramped places that way. Quick too.
My experience - pretty much every damn workday - is that I back out of a space faster than the “nose out” people can back in, pull out, realign themselves, back in again, possibly rinse and repeat. Suffice to say you may be awesome - the populace in general is not.
Haha, amen to that brother, you may very well be awesome too.
Try build a Lego car with working front wheel steering. Now measure the sort of angles you need in parking. Backing in is demonstrably the superior parking technique. It’s just a note harder to learn to do well.
I couldn’t back in for shit and then I got a rearview camera and now it’s like a video game and I’m the best at those.
I usually back in, except when it’s a double row and I know I have to load big stuff. And as long as you back in slow enough, you can adjust while doing it, so no realigning required. Same with backing up my mobile home (which I hope I will be allowed to do again in a few months time if France doesn’t close its borders for tourists): if you don’t rush it, it isn’t all that hard. I could even make it work in Euro Truck Simulator! :-)
Backing up with the mirrors is like a videogame too :p
I never could back up a trailer until strangely I learned to fly helicopters in the sim. Those diabolical machines have exactly the sort of counterintuitive reaction to control inputs that backing up a trailer does.
Like a trailer with a chopper you take it slow. You control, then countercontrol immediately and keep the inputs small.
I drove a 22’ commercial straight truck for years. Backing that thing in was standard operating procedure. I can back an SUV into a parking space in my sleep.
Just a heads-up that a Trump supporter asked me to delete this post for being off-topic. So let it be known that this picture and the attached one-act play made a Trump supporter angry! High five!

It’s an image… and not a gif… Interesting
Haha! Thank you for not deleting it…I crafted that with great care, including the misspelling of Birx. (And I like to poke a little fun at all politicians.)

I know you would never do it but I’d love to know who the thin skinned sucker is. I have my ideas…
I had no idea an SD card had a teeny magnetic disk inside, spinning really fast. Learn something new every day.
Corporate sponsorship could reduce the cost of funerals for people with low income.
