I don’t know what it is about that image but it’s really doing it for me. I actually lol’ed.
Why are they so illegal? Are they worried the kangaroos will go feral and compete with the native deer population? Can they even survive a typical US winter?
Maybe Tank Girl had something to do with it?
As with many exotic animals, they require extreme steps to be properly cared for and safety to be maintained at an appropriate level, so most states leave it up to the experts for everyone’s sake.
How much care could they possibly require if they are a nuisance/pest in their home country?
- they can sometimes be aggressive and disembowel you or your family members (or others if they get loose)
- they require massive yards to avoid stress and it needs good fencing for obvious reasons
- they’re not cheap to maintain, which can lead to miscare and animal death (very high mortality rate among pets, again like many other exotic animals)
- they also don’t gel very well with normal domesticated animals; they’ll kill dogs very quickly if the latter express any aggression and they can die from toxoplasmosis carried by cats
I’m sure there are more reasons why not to keep them as pets, but I have faith in your google skills.
All good points @Dan_Theman . Very well reasoned. But I counter with…!
Got a genuine LOL out of me. Spoilered because it contains a naughty, yet thoroughly cromulent, word:
