*Note: Ashes of the Singularity Lifetime Founders will receive Siege of Centauri for free.

I’m definitely in since I loved Ashes and the underlying Nitrous engine and want to see how the studio is exploring and experimenting with it. Great price too.

Ugh…

“Against such abominations, we organize our defenses on the principle that one strong and able mind can shield the many.” -Spartan Battle Manual.

I haven’t played a Centauri game yet that’s let me down.

Looks like some units are actually moving on the ground not just hovering like AotS.

" Now, I have been studying these reports from the front lines. You’ll note the plural form— lines . Is there anyone along our border with whom we are not currently at war?"

I’m a little sad because I thought this was going to be about an Alpha Centauri sequel.

So is this game Brad kept promising @kael would be here “soon” to get our opinions about? Kind of blah on Stardock anymore, but I do love me some TD, and I trust @kael will make it awesome. Don’t know if I want tons of DLC for a TD game, as Stardock likes to do nowadays, though.

I am a little sad that Brad isn’t here.

I first read this thread on my phone and didn’t explore the game further than this thread. But it turns out there’s screenshots too, and I like seeing them in gaming threads for new titles. So I’ll share a couple from the same link the rest of us can click just in case someone else hates clicking external links as much as I do.

I’m always down for some good Tower Defense games. added to list

What does this add to the genre? It’s a serious question: what makes this stand out from others? I’ve been playing some X-Morph: Defense (since its release on GOG) and it’s loads of fun to fly around, build towers, etc., with a top-notch presentation. This looks like bog-standard TD with the same drab look that Ashes has – so what does it do that makes it maybe worth taking a look at?

Also: I don’t give a damn about graphics/game engines.

Well, Tatiora says it’s a new take on the genre. So maybe there’s a surprise waiting to be revealed. As long as it’s not just 2~4 player PvP modes there’s a chance it could do something interesting.

I’ll definitely share more info as it becomes available!

Thanks! I know many of us will be looking forward to that.

40-player pvp mode, it’s TD Royale.

Now that’s what I’m missing in my life.

Been year since last I was hooked on a TD game. Will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

The Founder’s Program for Siege of Centauri will launch on March 28th, which will let you play a beta version of the game.

Here’s an excerpt from the forum post:

“With tens of thousands of enemy machines pouring toward your base, we want to give players a very new experience of what it means to defend yourselves against overwhelming odds,” said Derek Paxton, lead designer of Siege of Centauri . “It takes little explaining to the player on the benefits between a rail gun that fires 1 deadly round every 10 seconds, and a high-speed plasma arc array that does low damage, but to dozens of enemies at once, when you can visibly see a huge mothership surrounded by hundreds of escorts coming at you.”
