I lost her coming out of a temple while doing a favor for someone. I told her to wait outside for me. Well, when I exited the temple through a side door I was attacked by the guy who sent me in the temple. I killed him and his minion but Lydia was nowhere to be found.
I finally re-entered the temple through the front door and there, several hundred feet into the temple was Lydia running around looking lost. She instantly re-joined me.

It does. One way to make sure it’s working is to talk to your follower. They should have a new dialogue option that says “You know…”. If that’s there, then it’s working. If not, then you may not have activated the ESP file in your load order.
The new follower was there and had the right dialogue options; it’s Lydia that suddenly disappeared (she was right behind me actively following).
Open the console. Type:
player.moveto 000A2C94
Then close the console. This will move you to wherever in Tamriel Lydia has gone off to. When I did this I found her stuck on a mountain top two and a half holds away. Kinda made me feel guilty for leaving her there so long.
If Lydia is all bugged out by a mod run amok who knows what will happen.
Alternatively to bring her to you type:

when I followed that link, I got version 1.06.06 and downloading it gave me a 7z filetype not a zip. What am I supposed to do with that?
Use 7zip. And send whomever packaged it a kind thought for exposing you to an archiver that’s at least 50% better than whatever failplication you’ve been stuck with until today ;)
Realistic Needs and Diseases now also supports an MCM menu, and iHud added some nice new options to their MCM config.
I am loving the idea of this config menu, and I think we’ll see quick adoption among the more popular mods.
On other fronts, I know we’re sick of hearing/reading about lighting mods, but in my continual quest to waste my time examining every conceivable option of graphic overhaul and ENB config, I happened across the Phinix Natural ENB, and it really is quite nice. It’s fairly faithful to vanilla skyrim, but with a bit more visual pop and contrast. It also supports the latest version of ENBseries and the new fancy tech. I’ve found myself just staring at rocks or a bit of grass with it enabled. Things seem to have some nice depth, without all of the lighting craziness you get with some other mods (I’m looking at you, Climates of Tamriel and your occassional purple skies). YMMV, of course, since this is all highly depemdent on personal preference, monitor settings, and moon phases.
So I used HighPlain’s code to “moveto” where Lydia was and only found a sword and shield on the ground. Guess she died. :(
You must avenge her!!! (You can also use the console to bring her back using various “reset” commands, iirc, but where’s the fun in that?)
Well I seem to have broken my install…I updated SkyUI to 3.1, which also required the newest version of SKSE, 1.6.6, and now the game won’t launch. I get the bethesda logo, and then when it is trying to load the main menu the game just terminates.
Any idea if there are logs somewhere I can check, not found anything yet.

Preliminarily, it sounds to me like you’ve got some mod that’s dependent on another, and they’re loading out of order.
I am running quite a few mods, such as Climates of Tamriel, SkyRe etc…I played just fine last night, but then this morning I see SkyUI has been updated, so I download and try to install, and it pops up stating I need to update SKSE, which I do. Now when I launch through NMM using SKSE, I get the Bethesda Logo, I then briefly see the game logo before the game just exits…Windows doesn’t register it as a crash.
I ran BOSS and it has ordered the mods. I even tried reverting back to SKSE 1.6.5 and SkyUI 3.0 but still get the same behavior.
That’s classic “mod dependent on another mod loading out of order behavior”.
Does your BOSS report show any flags for unrecognized mods (or flags for anything else, for that matter?)
Wait, SkyUI just got updated again? Jeez, it’s hard to keep up. BTW, I solved my follower problem with the Temptress mod and the UFO mod.
The new Temptress-race follower in question was hanging out in the Temple of Kynareth in Whiterun. So I fast travel to Whiterun from the edge of the map to Whiterun with Lydia in tow. Interestingly, when I then dismiss Lydia she acknowledges but keeps following me, hmm. Then we both go into the temple, and I ask the new follower to join me. I turn around and Lydia starts walking away (presumably to Breezehome, as she told me she would when I dismissed her). Then I follow Lydia and tell her to stick around, and she does (whew) and so does the other one (“Vixen”). So now I have two brunette babes following me around (would that this were the case IRL!). My character is also a brunette babe, BTW, to whom I gave the improbable name of Johanna even though she’s not a Nord but an Imperial.
BOSS has the warning on SkyRe that it has always had, no unrecognized plugins.
There are other messages about cleaning up with TES5Edit, but I have not had to do that in 300+ hours of playing the game before.
When you updated SkyUI from 3.0 to 3.1, did you first de-activate 3.0, or did you tell NMM to just update to 3.1 with 3.0 still active?
