oo. I tried reading them all but there was an ice troll I had to climb around… guess I missed one!
Disable, like temporarily disable? Or cancel entirely?
I guess I missed a stone because I never noticed that. To be honest I’m glad I did, because that sounds boring.
>The feedback on these buffs is so bad (who is resistent to what? did that help at all?),
I think at least part of this is intentional design – at least, various creatures’ resistances to various effects might be found in random book on how to kill X creature. I think Bethsoft wants this knowledge to be found in-game or through common sense, rather than have every number totally transparent as an MMO might do. Not sure they nailed it, but I appreciate the philosophy.

So does anyone know if Bethesda has fessed up about screwing up resistances in this last patch? Any word on 1.3, God help us all? I can’t be bothered to read the Bethesda forums myself, too voluminous.

Cancel, expunge, remove, dispel, destroy. But you can get it again, the same way. It’s neat to be able to walk tranquilly through a clump of deer.
The only response I’ve seen is “We’re investigating.”

I can’t even read the forums at all this morning – timing out constantly. Alas, Bethesda…
Ah ha. I probably did get it, then, and just lost it the first time I hunted a bear for its pelt.

I love this whole resists are gone thing. Fuck you! You can’t hide from my icy death anymore! BAAAAHAHAHAA.
Also, sidenote, the whole lack of resists thing is clearly more realistic ducks.

Well, a 30% frost resist potion against a frost dragon is… pretty damn useful sometimes. He’ll do enough damage that you have to chug health potions, so how about you chug about 1/3 less health potions? I don’t see the problem with keeping them on hand.

There’s only so much wheat in the world.

I think people miss them because they don’t follow <insert one of the two NPC guys in beginning of game> all the way down the mountain.
My first time emerging into the world I just ran off wherever. But starting up again yesterday I followed him and he basically leads you right to those stones and it’s on the path to Riverwood.
Well… yeah OK, but you can’t always search out wheat, and you can’t make good potions if you don’t have alchemy. If you’re level 30 with no alchemy skill, whatever you attempt to make is probably going to be useless.

I wasn’t being sarcastic.

I know you’re joking [EDIT: perhaps not?], but for some of the other folks here, whenever you see “harvest XXXXX,” it eventually respawns. Right there.
Wheat is pretty much unlimited. As I’m approaching 50+, this got pretty important when I bumped the difficulty up. I’ve even seen nirnroot regrow, despite people and game tips saying it would not.
Not that Nirnroot.
I do know about the farm full of nirnroot, I’m talking about even the normal spawns for it. The ones near Whiterun have respawned multiple times for me now.

Nirnroot is pretty easy to spot if you have light fade on max.

Sorry man. My detector is off today. I blame too much Skyrim, and my very unhealthy addiction to it at this point. Still, some might not know that.

I actually kind of wish they’d made potions and ingredients weight free, like ammo was in the default settings of the recent Fallout titles. You can easily end up with 50 pounds of that crap, when all you are really doing is hauling it around so you don’t have to rush back home everytime you want to make a potion.
No problem with that at all, I’m just lazy ;)
And even with only health and mana I have a bazillion potions. To be honest, I do keep the odd invisibility potion or lock picking potion around, just in case. But then I never need it.
Thanks for the tip on the High Hrothgar stones, this character hasn’t been there yet so it’s a good option.
I think part of the problem with the beasties is me playing without a companion on this char (because they keep ruining my stealth…). Means I have to be my own tank now…
