Well, you know, keeping a good crop is all about rotation, so the extra wheat you find is really just like taking out the trash for a friend. Quite neighborly, really ;)
Yeah, go make potions! Harvest éverything, mix it all together and see what you get! Don’t forget to sell the potions you don’t need/use though: at one point I had about 200 in my inventory. Which, at 0,5 each, is still 100 kilo: a big chunck of your carrying capacity…
Also an option to help kill dragons: get a follower, if you don’t have one yet. Mine tend to die on me all the time though, especially when I play a mage… They just don’t seem to grasp the idea of staying out of my line of fire…
What? Madness. Just eat it. Eat everything. Blue leaves. Butterfly wings. Giant toes. Troll dung. Whatever. Eat it.
Just eat stuff raw? Guh.
And I have to admit I kinda hate that I NEED to make potions. I should be able to buy them I feel, if that’s what I wanna do. I’ll make 'em, sure, just ugh.

You can buy them. It will just be more expensive that way.
Fair enough, I’ll give it a shot tonight.
I love, love this game by the way. I think it’s more fun when one doesn’t fast travel.
True. At least: not when you go somewhere for the first time. Having to walk the same road for the x’th time, when there’s nothing left to discover, isn’t all that great anymore, tbh.
Well, with me so far I’ve noticed I’m usually on the way to do a quest so I don’t pay too much attention to the surroundings, but on the way back I’ll see something off in the distance and go “what’s that?” and venture off a bit. I love how this game beckons one to explore it.
The correct answer to the question “What do you do when a warrior who slays dragons and crushes his foes with his voice wishes to take your wheat?” is “Let him”.

When you try stuff raw you learn what it can be used for.
I find myself fast traveling too much. Every now and then I will walk across the map and it is amazing how you still find new things.
I partnered up with the mage from Darkstar, We ran across a dragon and he practically killed the darn thing without even involving me. I took him back to Darkstar and left him there. It is no fun being a bystander in your own game.

I apparently have some bug where I cannot finish the Bard quest. Viamo? never stops lighting the fire, so the festival goes on forever. This is on a PC. Any ideas?
I haven’t gotten to that particular quest yet, but since you’re on the PC, you could just use the console to set the quest stage to where you want it (I don’t know the particulars but I know they’re easily available online).
I have a question–has anyone else had Lydia stumble around drunk? I posted about it earlier in the mods and tweaks thread and included links to screenshots.
I’ve not seen that, because I got Lydia killed…runs off to his room, crying

It’s best to not get attached to any of the followers, because they aren’t all that bright.
I got Lydia killed pretty early on in my current playthrough. (I think she may have wandered into my flaming hands during a busy fight and I didn’t notice until I saw her corpse on the floor with all the bandits at the end of the battle.)
I picked up some random mercenary in Whiterun (a Dunmer hanging out in the archery shop) and she’s been doing all right so far, but I never give a second thought about where she is or what she’s doing. I often run way ahead of her and get involved in many fights without her because she’s either miles away or hung up on some terrain somewhere, or Talos knows what. She shows up eventually, but if she disappeared forever I’d shrug and go find some other follower to abuse. ;)
BTW, when you tell a follower to sleep in a bed or bedroll or whatever, apparently the “I need you to do something for me” command is still active and you can’t address another follower, is that right (because clicking on or hitting the “E” key would tell the first follower to attack them)? Also, you can’t just go off somewhere and leave the follower sleeping?

Short of telling a follower that you no longer need their services there seems to be a pretty universal “3 day” time period when you can tell a follower to wait until they “leave” you and then you can bring on someone else. Of course your housecarls are always there ready to rejoin you.
As for your “drunk” Lydia problem, I have not seen that. I don’t think I have ever had her sleep however, just sit in a chair. I have noticed that most of the followers I have used will yawn at some point.
Thanks, Scuzz–actually I should have asked that in the mods thread, since in the vanilla game you can’t have two followers active at the same time. Maybe the mod (Ultimate Follower Overhaul) is also the cause of Lydia’s apparent drunkenness. :-)
Brian, did you ever do the “bring Lydia to you” console command, just in case? I read that you did the “warp to Lydia” one and just found a sword and some armor or something.
Papageno, I used the console to go to her, and just found a shield, sword and some armor on the ground. :( weeps LINDA! You killed my…er…LYDIA!

You should do the other one, just in case. After all, she may just have gotten tired of schlepping all that stuff around. ;-)
Oh I did both, nothing happened when I used the command to have her come to me. :(
