Because I’m a terrible hoarder?

I have something like 200 steel arrows backing up my iron ones, but I just can’t leave them in the floor because… “might need them one day.”

I find that there’s often a crash around the corner when I start seeing the purple textures though, so it’s my cue to save, quit, and restart.

Do you keep the 7 dmg Forsaken arrows too?

My cue is when I try to take stuff out of a chest, but instead random inventory items start moving to the chest. Like, I’ll hit my “Loot All” key, and suddenly my money and trade skill stuff will get dumped into the chest, and trying to take that stuff out will crash to desktop.

I am carrying about 70 7 damage Falmer arrows…

Though I don’t go collect those after firing. Often.

Loving it, especially with Pogo’s tweaks and bumping the draw distance way up. This game runs like butter and it really shouldn’t look as good as it does on my system. That has probably been the most impressive thig about it so far.

I am annoyed, mildly, that my first dialog in the first village with an NPC included an option my guy had no way of knowing anything about. Also, that all characters, in the end, are either battle-mages or stralthy-mages. It is just the Bethesda way, but it seems you have to force yourself not to use at least a little magic.

I also find the UI odd. I feel like I am playing Dwarf Fortress.

Do love hunting though, you have to stalk animals. Wish you had locational hits tho so you could cripple the beasts or hit an artery and cause them to bleed out.

Love game.

You people who are actually reading the books are completely mental. I know this because I am myself a fairly compulsive completionist, and even I can’t sit through those things.

Not only do I read them, I have them sorted alphabetically in one of my houses…

I hope they mod the book cabinets so instead of being limited to depositing 18 books per row, they let you add 52 books in one go, and have it listed alphabetically. It is a bit annoying, as I am for instance lacking book 4 of a series of 7 books, but that column is full of 18 books. so now, when I find book 4, i’ll need to shift 1 book down each line, across 3 cabinets :)

Speaking of arrows: Of course you collect all of them :) At the start of the game, I even had an enemy shoot arrows at me for 10 minutes, while I dodged them, as they have unlimited arrows and I could farm them.

It’s Creepy (dead) Watson!

Overheard in Riften shop area: “Make love like a Sabercat!” I do, maing…

At level 26 I think I have used actual magic, as opposed to scrolls, about three times. Twice to heal, once to try out flames on some undead dude. I have never put any points into Magicka and frankly don’t intend to. Spells are for finger-wiggling wimps. Arrows are where it’s at! And yes, I have HUNDREDS of zero-weight arrows of all types on me.

Question: what are the “rules” on being seen when committing a crime? Some woman was a real jerk in a town, so I went into her house, it was just me and her in the house (well, and Lydia) and I killed her. Next thing I know there are guards in the house arresting me.

You have to eliminate all witnesses to the crime, and I think your own follower counts as a witness, so Lydia snitched on you. Just park her outside before you do your nefarious deeds.

Chickens are witnesses too!

And your horse, don’t forget that!

I suppose I should spare Lydia of seeing that side of me anyway, since I will be marrying her one day (as soon as I get the amulet, etc.) ;)

I once got a bounty for shouting at a chicken. I roasted the chicken and then my bounty went away because I’d killed all the witnesses.

I have an odd bug wherein when I tell Lydia we must part ways and she heads back home, she subsequently unequips anything I gave her.

As a result now when I come back to my house, lydia is always sitting there in the chair facing the bed with no clothes on (but with sword and shield… Like a true Nord I suppose!)

I always feel like she’s hinting at something…

Don’t hurt the chickens!

In all seriousness though, there’s a problem (or easter egg maybe?) in the code such that Chickens count as full NPC’s for bounty, witnesses, etc.

So, a true chicken and egg problem then?

Awesome
