Yeah I don’t believe the game ever ‘ends’ per se. There’s apparently all the repeatable quests you can do essentially forever. They’re pretty generic though and I imagine that would get boring as hell.
For scrolls, spells and enchanted weapons where the description says that they do x points of damage for n seconds, does this really mean that they do x points of damage per second for n seconds?
Also, when you have a bow equipped and apply a poison to it, is the poison only on the first arrow that is shot from the bow after the poison has been applied or is it applied to subsequent arrows also?

A corollary – if an opponent blocks a poisoned weapon with a shield, does it poison the target?

Yea, I tested it with both a “Slow” poison (slows target for a duration), and a regular one shot 25dmg poison.

Is there a way to hotkey dual weapons so I can swap between my need to cast a spell or shoot an arrow with my dual weapon slicing?

As was mentioned upthread (I think it was this one anyway) I am loving Skyrim, but as much as I want to read all the books it just hasn’t happened. When I am playing Skyrim I want to be playing Skyrim not reading. Happily, this blog post contains links to all the books in Skyrim in both .epub and .mobi formats. Perfect for reading on the ipad or device of your choice.

Be careful with this. I stumbled on the first one by accident and then exploited it mercilessly. And then at some point, coincidence maybe, the steam achievements got disabled in my save game.
Its really too easy to do, in fact I think its even easier for the converse to happen where you get screwed.
This is awesome, I don’t want to read in game for the same reasons but I was just thinking, damn I wish I had them on my phone. And now I do!
Would love to see a steam-powered iOS app for Skyrim which would let one do this. A guy can dream.

How much damage are you getting from your primary weapon? My swords (Shocker and Freezer) are listed as 64 each.
Also, does anyone else cackle when they run into a room, some mages put up a ward because you spit a fireball their way, and then you go hit them with a sword? It’s like beating up on chess club, and I was in chess club.
This game is awesome.
And I was kinda ‘meh’ on it after all that ongoing streamlining between the Elder Scrolls games but I happily eat my words. This game is so much better than Oblivion in almost every aspect, it’s incredible!
I replayed Oblivion while waiting for my copy to arrive and the music is so damn repetitive I had to turn it off. That’s also an aspect which is much improved in Skyrim. They even have tracks from Morrowind in, I like their combat themes etc. etc. Too bad that this is the first Elder Scrolls, where the music doesn’t seem to be in the game folder as mp3s :(
The magic system is subtly improved so my hopes for a better system were not disappointed. I have so much fun with my pure mage right now, I don’t even touch any weapons (If the UI was better, it would be even more fun). Dual wielding spells with different animations was a great idea.
Earlier I came across a group of bandits patrolling the road. I summoned my flame atronach, put Fear on their chief, and blasted the others to Oblivion (heh).
Before this game, my GOTY was Dark Souls, hands down. But now it will be difficult to choose…

Hmmm. Went to the blog, opened the file in my PC Kindle app - synched, etc. but it doesn’t show up on my Kindle or iPhone Kindle app - what’s the procedure needed?
EDIT: NVM - used the USB cable.

I just email it to:
YourKindleUsername@free.kindle.com
It converts anything I need converted, then sends it to my kindle.
From Amazon.com:
Go to ‘Your Account’ -> ‘Manage Your Device’, you’ll have a kindle e-mail address here. This is where you email your documents, just change @kindle.com to @free.kindle.com when you send attachments.
In ‘your kindle e-mail approved list’ you can setup an e-mail address allowed to send attachments to you kindle (I send them from my gmail for example).

Hmm - I moved the book to my Kindle by simply using the USB cable and moving the file into the Kindle documents folder, shows up there and reads fine, but it doesn’t seem to show up on my phone or even in the manage my kindle page on Amazon, even after I manually synch. Will a file you move yourself that way not synch?

A file you move that way will not sync.
