SM Bus Controller driver installation question

Hey people, I went ahead and bit the bullet and did a clean reinstall of Win XP Pro. As it turns out, one of the things still appearing with a yellow question mark in the device manager is the SM Bus Controller.

This is an Intel-based motherboard, a Gigabyte EP45 UD3R. Should I uninstall my sound card, monitor and video drivers before installing the Intel chipset driver? Any experience here with this?

No. Just install the Intel drivers and go.

Thanks for the reply. I was a little concerned because I’d read that you’re supposed to do that first thing after a clean Windows install.

Meh. So many things that “you’re supposed to do” are just tribal mumbo jumbo.
