But we totally need to reason with these folks.
Steve Ballmer just launched this site:

Yeah I know, I’ve really got to do something about my gif addiction. Maybe tomorrow.

I don’t quite understand your post.
The image you use depict Napoleon troops killing a group of spanish. Notice the member of the clergy in the group. If anything, the scene can be described has “the dreams of the reasons… produce monsters”. If anything, the Napoleon army is more progressive than the people they are killing. They are just imposing enlightenment values… by force. Napoleon was a force removing the old “kings and queen” status and creating a new one maybe much more modern, maybe not much better but that can be 101% be described has “enlighttenment values”.
So, maybe I don’t understand your post. Because the image is enlightement forces murdering civilians mixed with forces of the darkness (religion).

“She’s elegant and confident and a truly successful woman,” said Bridget Wang, 26, a master’s student at the Beijing Foreign Studies University. “Her feminine touch will help smooth Chinese-U.S. relations.”
“She is very amiable, with a tender disposition, and not like her father who is quite unpredictable,” said Geng Baoqiang, 36, a senior manager at a foreign investment company.
“She’s independent-minded, thoughtful and supportive of her dad,” remarked Jenny Zhen, 32, a Chinese language teacher. “Her kids learning Chinese language will definitely have a good influence on China-U.S. relations.”
Such opinions are widely echoed on social media, with one person commenting on Weibo that “she should be running for president.” Another user wrote “she’s intelligent, calm, logical, with ready smiles even when confronted with harsh questions. A brilliant woman.”
“She is the image ambassador of the White House,” said Chen Pei, 25, a student at Beijing Foreign Studies University.[/quote]
Chinese views of America are so weird.
I’m sure nobody ever says the same of American views of their country.
Thousands of followers in China is like having a fan club with 10 people in the States. In a country that large, you can find a sub-population for almost anything. One of the scary/interesting things about media globalization is how you could probably write a story on anything, if you were willing to dig. People are crazy, weird, and highly variable, once you’re talking about billions.
More pics of the visit, and some rather scathing commentary, here.
WARNING : May be NSFW due to headline and written content. The pics are safe, though they did make me throw up in my mouth a little.
God, Wonkette is just obnoxious. The text of the article made me want to throw up in my mouth a little. Hey, Wonkette writer, while you’re busy throwing shade and making fun of people, you might want to stop for two damn seconds and figure out which of Palin’s daughters appeared with her.

Having Kid Rock pretend like he’s looking at some serious business is amazing.
Seriously, wtf is even happening.
“Hey, poor America with rural values, look how awesome I am!”

I saw something last week I think that had (jokingly, I think) Kid Rock running for Governor or Senator from some state.
