I can only remember a few times in twenty years in this business that I heard genuinely stunning news. Obviously 9/11 was stunning; natural disasters are stunning. But I mean political developments which are totally unexpected and substantially shocking. This is shocking.

I want to give some basic background. Let me first discuss the letters released by the White House, which explain the reasoning of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Deputy Attorney General who made the recommendation. We are only just reviewing the letters. But they appear to hang Comey’s firing on his handling of the Clinton probe, arguing that his July press conference was inappropriate, violated DOJ guidelines, etc. They also reference his October 28th email.

I don’t hold voters accountable. Don’t blame the system, which apparently was rigged, for all of the actions that came afterward. This is all on Trump and his chosen cronies.

Could America have voted for someone better? Ab-so-fucking-lutely. But for the most part, you just can’t predict crap like this. It’s on a new level of insanely crazy.

No man, Olaf claimed to be a libertarian, and voted for a clearly authoritarian candidate.

I dunno, a lot of us predicted it pretty well.

I called a Constitutional crisis in the first year, if not six months and here we are.
Anyone who knew anything about Trump saw it coming.

It may be a crisis but the Republicans won’t do anything. We will have to wait for the 2018 elections, and frankly it’s unlikely the Democrats will take over any part of Congress.

The Republican plan will be vote suppression, gerrymandering, and influencing the census in 2020.

Start buying guns, folks.

Didn’t he just fly back to Washington?

MSNBC was showing arial footage of Comey’s plane flying out of LA on its way back to DC four hours ago.

I suppose they could be wrong.

Corrected in the tweet responses.

Was this planned in anticipation and just a hilarious (and terrible) coincidence?

Or is he rubbing it on everybody’s face?

Facebook livestream protest at the White House.

An incessant chorus of booing and shouting from students and parents at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach caused DeVos to briefly stumble over her words and speed through portions of her speech, which was at times almost inaudible.

DeVos, whose nomination for education secretary was deeply controversial from the day of her confirmation hearing, angered black college students early in her tenure by suggesting that HBCUs were “the original pioneers of school choice.”

More than a dozen graduates stood with their backs to DeVos throughout the entirety of her speech. Some members of the crowd were escorted from the room with their fists raised in the black power symbol. Chants of “hell nah” rang out as DeVos spoke about the “different life experiences” of those in the crowd.

Edit: Heh.
