IMO there’s no way he doesn’t run in 2020, assuming he is in good health and hasn’t been impeached by then.
I think that’s exactly what happened in the (as it turned out, mythical) Blue Wall states that put Trump over the top in the EC. I mean, Wisconsin was lost by what, three votes per precinct on average? What about PA and MI?
OK, I looked it up and the closest of the three states was Michigan–Trump won by less than 1/4 of 1% of the vote. In Wisconsin and Pennsylvania he won by about 0.8%.

Agreed. He’s an extreme narcissist in the most visible, powerful job in the world.
And he’s already solved the workload issue by simply not doing it.
Narcissists (smart or dumb, malignant or not) do give up, when they believe their narcissistic supply is diminishing and/or decide they can increase supply by changing plans. They don’t frame it as “giving up”, of course, but they absolutely will do so if they deem it the better option.
Classic Edmund Burke. The mistake we have made is assuming that will just happen on its own (and im as guilty of that as anyone, mind you). I guess sometimes decency requires a swift kick in the ass.

Well yeah, the hate filled racists are going to like Trump no matter what because everyone else is going to tell them what a piece of shit they are and then hold them accountable for their racist views.
But remember guys we really need the Dems to sacrifice some values to win out in places like that by courting those folks :P

Those people are unwinnable for the most part, though if it gets bad enough even they’ll give the other side a try.
Would you rather have someone like them in office or a guy who’s basically Obama only he’s pro-2nd Amendment?
Cause usually those are the options you’ll end up with. Better to have the pro-gun guy who doesn’t think trans people need to be stoned. You can’t change the world if you lose all the elections but the other side sure will.
Better to make small compromises than watch the GOP crazies get enough to hold a Constitutional Convention legalizing machine guns and making Evangelical Christianity the law of the land, after they repeal the right to free speech. Cause that’s where we’ve been heading for a while now.

I don’t think anyone is asking Dems to court the KKK vote. It’s more about flexibility on the second amendment and, in some places, abortion.
I removed a snarky reply - not to you, but against the entire notion that Republicans stand up for the “white” working class (everyone knows those brown people don’t work), but which is such a load of bullshit that if it isn’t obvious by now, sarcasm isn’t going to help make it any more obvious.
What Virginia did and which is a blueprint for 2018 and beyond is that Democrats need to field credible candidates for down ballot races. This can happen with or without DNC/DCCC support. A lot of ‘resistant’ groups organized, found candidates and did the hard work that is required to expand the party and by extension increase voter turn out. That’s what works. (It is still seriously depressing that Democrats in VA needed to win by +10 just to maybe get even in the VA House.) Sure, trump backlash certainly contributed, but it’s not as if the opposition can’t chew gum and walk at the same time.
As an aside, here’s another example of Republicans standing up for workers and small business. Guess it doesn’t matter though so long as joe blowhard can tote his magic weapon wherever the fuck he wants.
For years, when two companies both control the terms and conditions of employment, they are also both considered responsible for workplace violations like wage theft, sexual harassment or safety problems. So if a window washer working for a contractor fell because safety equipment was improperly installed by the company whose building he was cleaning, he could sue both the contractor and the larger company for damages.
But under the bill passed on Tuesday, large corporations that outsource jobs would get virtually full immunity from workplace violations, while the typically smaller, poorly capitalized local businesses that provide the workers would bear all the liability. This could leave these small businesses exposed to bankruptcy, leaving workers in danger of having no remedies at all.

So, you saying Trump doesn’t like dogs?
There isn’t much in that story to make any kind of decision as to why it happened.
There’s the problem right there. Every time he’s found FOX is correct. Every time. And how exactly is he fact checking to come to this conclusion? Obviously he is not. Obviously FOX simply caters far more towards his racist, xenophobic and narrowly focused world view. Those folks at FOX are pretty white people who say bad things about Killary and Obummer, so obviously there the REAL news.
Here it is, the bottom line. “This world sucks so bad for me. People I’ve known for years have kids dying from heroin, they don’t have jobs anymore, they don’t have hope anymore, MINORITIES get to collect welfare, free phones and college scholarships and we’re left to fend for ourselves out here in rural America. BURN IT ALL DOWN.”
It is a sad irony that people who voted for and believe in the candidate and party who WON the election feel this way, while at the same time everyone who didn’t vote that way now also feels the same way because of what the candidate and party are doing to the country. It’s as if these people’s only purpose in voting Trump was to say FUCK YOU to the rest of the country. If we’re going down, we’re taking you with us.
Die. In a fire. Today. Seriously, people like this can’t fucking die off fast enough for me. And the fact that the other guy would talk about his 100% Italian-American immigrant family who EARNED the respect of their fellow Americans. Fuck that guy. My Italian-American immigrant grandparents earned the respect of and in turn respected the people in their neighborhoods wherever they lived, be it their fellow mostly Italian-American community in Rome, New York, or their considerably more diverse community years later in Orlando, Florida. They taught me to measure people’s worth by their words and actions, not their skin color or accent. As a fellow descendent of Italian American immigrants, that guy can “vaffanculo”!
I think for a lot of people it absolutely was.
Considering that a vote for Trump is a vote for the ruination or outright end of countless lives and everyone who did so is utterly complicit in doing so, I mean, yeah.
Pieces of shit, the entirety of them.

everyone makes deal that doesn’t include that guy
