Here’s a read about how data allowed the Trump people to target voters:

I would actually argue that Scalia’s opinion on this matter was a departure from his normal principled school of thought, as I think some of his last rulings were. In that particular ruling, he seemed to be definitely injecting his own opinion into the matter, rather than reading the letter of the law.

This is actually the problem with not taking a literalist approach… because then things get decided by individual men, rather than the rule of law.

Kind of unfortunate actually. I’m trying to organize my group’s annual cycling trip this year and a few people are just saying “I don’t want anything to do with the US”. I’m thinking of you guys on the forum and saying things like “a lot of them are deeply embarrassed about this whole Trump and banning Muslims thing, it’ll be good”. But it’s just too much. So the US economy is probably going to miss out on a few thousand dollars from us at least.

But seriously, seriously, seriously: fuck the religious right.

Posted while jamming to

Feels about right yeah

Seriously, if you want to do us some good as a country, boycott and sanction the hell out of us.

It’s going to take an economic crash to convince Americans to get rid of Trump.

Wait does this mean that I can start a new thread?

#In Which #Trumperica2017 Strives to Create a North American Christian Caliphate

And the entire point is that we’ll just “drift into” wars under Trump because he’s an explosive, idiotic, ignorant egomaniac.

They were last week when a Milo supporter shot a protester.

police have confirmed that an anti-Trump protester was non-fatally shot outside of a Milo Yiannapolous event at the University of Washington on Friday. The police took the alleged shooter, described as an Asian man, in custody, but have since released him after he told them he thought the protester was a “white supremacist” and he was simply acting in self-defense.

So wait, both last week (UW) and again this week (Berkeley) people were shot at Milo Yiannopoulous events, and both times the people shot were anti-Trump protesters, yet somehow this is going to be turned into an example of protestors getting violent and attacking Trump supporters.

Because 'Murica, fuck yeah.

Wait what…

Here’s the full timeline:

Police said a person of interest in the shooting turned himself in to UW police.

But the man was released after telling investigators he fired in self-defense during a campus protest, according to two law-enforcement officials briefed on the case.

One of the law-enforcement officials said the man who fired the gun claimed he had been assaulted before shooting the other man, whom he believed to be some type of white supremacist. Friends of the Dukes, his attorney and the socialist union he was allegedly part of, however, disputed that characterization.

King County prosecutors said they would not make a decision Monday on potential charges.

Harborview spokeswoman Susan Gregg said the victim improved to satisfactory condition and was moved Monday night out of the hospital’s intensive-care unit.

The shooter, whom The Seattle Times is not naming because he has not been charged with a crime, sent a Facebook message about an hour before the shooting to Yiannopoulos, complaining that he was “sucker punched” and that someone had stolen his Make America Great Again hat, police said. He wanted a new one, but Yiannopoulos did not respond.

His Facebook page indicates he supports Trump, Yiannopoulos and the National Rifle Association.
I haven’t heard about anyone being shot at the Berkeley event. I did hear 4 people were “hurt”, but no mention of shootings. But I did hear of a fire being set and four banks having their windows broken.

I think I was confusing the incidents having read multiple articles quickly. So much crazy stuff is happening I just can’t keep up with the facts, or the alt-facts, or the fun facts…

With Russia;

Trump will start it with everyone else :P

As others pointed out. I didn’t mix up my protests… this was yesterday at UC Berkeley, no shooter.

The House has voted to scrap an Obama Administration regulation extending background checks for disabled Social Security recipients mentally incapable of managing their own affairs.

The vote to repeal the regulation is 235-180.

The vote is part of an effort to repeal a handful of regulations issued in President Obama’s final months and represents the first steps toward strengthening gun ownership under President Donald Trump.

The background checks rule established the criteria the Social Security Administration will follow when forwarding names for the criminal background check system.

Those fitting the criteria have a mental disorder so severe that they cannot work and need a representative to manage their benefits. The administration projected that the regulation would affect about 75,000 beneficiaries.
