Not only is it pretty consistently scary, but there’s a lot of swearing and drug use. I’d recommend this for 14+, maybe 16+.
Well, that isn’t the Winx Cartoon at all, is it? Okay then.
Other than most of the main characters’ names and fairy type, the fairy / specialist relationship, as well as the Alfea setting, it is not at all like the cartoon. I wish I’d known that before my 10 year old watched the first 5 minutes with me.
Netflix really pisses me off with this kind of shit. So many shows I watch where I think it will be pretty good and then it gets canceled.
I’ve been grudgingly watching this. I do understand why it’s getting cancelled, and at the same time, it has some pretty cool aspects that have made it worth the time investment (progressive relationships, decent main “villain”).
I’m not done the second season yet but I will finish it out. One thing I’ll say about Netflix’s data driven cancellations: they’re brutal but fair. This is never going to be any kind of hit, and I doubt would ever give return on any kind of investment.
