A former Much Music VJ, George Stroumboulopoulos.
It’s like what I imagine Jon Stewart doing if he wanted to be serious.

Hey, did he do a rock show on Fuse. We used to get the original Canadian version on cable and the smarmy, quick-witted VJs were great. Then came its present incarnation, which is still better than MTV, but it is not the same.
Anyway, I remember an odd two-pronged goatee, but a good show.
EDIT: Of course, it is in his bio on the site and I had already forgotten that it was MuchMusic back then. THose damn incessant animated FUSE ads have almost wiped my memory.
George was the last good thing about MuchMusic. Now it’s just all MTV-wannabe hip-pop.
Of course I’m saying this because I’m now 26 and can no longer “appreciate” the vibrant “urban” culture of today’s youth. From the mean streets of Malibu to the ghetto roads of Vancouver, white and asian kids in mansions are rising up and proving that while it may be mommy’s Escalade or daddy’s Benz, the gold-plated spinners are theirs.
[Shit, did I just hijack my own thread?]
CBC Radio 3 is everything good that Much Music once was.

I haven’t seen George’s new show, but I should probably check it out. I watched a few clips from your link, and it looks worthwhile…definetely aimed a younger crowd than a typical news show, but maybe this will be the type of thing that will get teens and 20-somethings interested in politics.
During last night’s Daily Show Jon channeled Murphy Brown for almost ten solid minutes for some serious uninterrupted interviewing goodness with Colin Powell. I guess now that the Daily Show has a global edition carried by CNN, he has to show them how the interview process is done.
Shit, I missed that!
Gonna have to download it.
Or watch it one of the 13 times they rerun it the next day, including 11:30 after tonight’s new episode.

His questions were pretty good, but I was disappointed in Colin Powell’s talking-point-like answers.
Crap.
I fucking hate not having BTEFNET around.
Anyone got a link for that show?
You’re lucky.
All we get is fucking Tucker Carlson on MSNBC.
The dick.
Does he still have a bowtie?
There are a million btefnet clones up. In fact, every time a big site is down there seem to be more up than before.

These two have the daily show.
