So what did MDK really ever stand for?

Maybe this bit of trivia was answered sometime long ago and maybe not, but I remember back in the heyday of this game when speculation was rampant on what the name meant. Does anyone know?

My favorite: Murder Death Kill

Great. Games. Max, Dr. Hawkins, and Kurt. The three characters in the game (although you only play Kurt in the first).

Mr. Dave’s Koala

(Dave as in Dave Perry)

It was, in fact, originally murder-death-kill, then murder-death-kill was dropped, and it was changed to a meaningless acronym, presumably because it was considered too offensive or too graphic for a young game-playin’ audience.

Funny actually. If you check out the Moby Games entry ([/img]http://mobygames.com/game/trivia/gameId,344/) it’s obvious that there’s no real answer. Looks like it means whatever you want it to mean.

Well, it was certainly advertisted/pushed in the UK before launch as “murder death kill”.

If it makes you feel better I remember it the same way :)

Wasn’t Murder-Death-Kill originally from Demolition Man?

Yup!

It was, in fact, originally murder-death-kill

This is correct… In fact I still have previews of the game from 1996/97 where it is called Murder Death Kill.

Eh, I’ve also just found previews saying that it is Max, Dr. Fluke Hawkins and Kurt… Seems to be whatever the developers wanted it to be on that particular day :)
