It was banning folks almost immediately, because a ton of people went on there and seized the names of a bunch of prominent republicans, and just started saying amazingly awesome and outrageous things.

They were banning people for disagreeing with conservatives as well.
Taking people’s names is kind of understandable, Twitter tends to ban for that as well, but the “Free Speech Platform” started banning people instantly for dissenting or making fun of conservatives. You know the things they say Twitter does (which of course isn’t remotely what happens on Twitter, but whatever).

Like I said before, if Parler wants to be the safe online space where Nazis, misogynists, trolls, homophobes, and just generally hateful people want to hang out and chat, more power to them.
I have a feeling they’ll find it hard monetizing to the degree they’d like, since the My Pillow guy only has so much money to spend on advertising.
But I’m content to have those a-holes exercising their right to free speech somewhere else.

Sure, but the thing they tell everyone is that they’re doing it because of censorship from Twitter and Facebook. Which is patently horseshit, because they do the same thing at Parler. Obviously hypocrisy is second nature to these people, but it doesn’t mean we should stop pointing it out and mocking them for it.
I suspect if it gets bad enough they’ll run into the problems the Daily Stormer has. If anything “being on Parler” is a red flag for any elected official and the worse it gets there the worse it is for them, so… really it’s all pluses all around.

The best thing about Parler is it tells me exactly who on my FB page, those I have not ejected yet, gets their information from garbage sites. The SaveTheChildren and the Parler group are the same group. It’s pathetic really.

This is why anytime someone talks about Parler I feel a small jolt of joy.
The Feds have probably got tons of people in various groups on the site just listening for actionable intel.
I’ll feel even better when Barr isn’t in charge anymore and I’ll know it’s happening though.
