I sort of get the concept of a personality cult, of leaders with great charisma and that sort of thing. It’s a bit alien to me but I at least think I grasp the concept. For the life of me, though, what I cannot figure out is how there is a personality cult around Donald Trump. He’s a moron, he doesn’t speak or communicate well, etc.
Maybe it would make a little more sense if I had watched The Apprentice and believed his character was the real him or something and used that as a lens to see him through? I don’t know, I’m completely nonplussed.
