Wall Street is not safe from social networks power

And really, not much is.

Look who finally found out about Twitter.

So grindr, an app for lgbt people to hook up discloses the fact they are lgbt and Norway fines them a third of their 2019 profit.

Thanks for outing everyone grindr.

Not quite, they violate several data protection, err, protections when selling to third parties, of which sexual preference is just one. The fact that it can be implied is not a problem the GDPR tried to solve, informed consent, however, very much was.

He’s running

Don’t tease.

Eh, I’m full up on New York media personalities. I love Jon Stewart but he correctly pointed out many times he’s a comedian, not a serious news man or politician.

Jon Stewart though did seem to have a better command of a lot of issues than actual politicians and pundits, as he’s shown in past debates.

I feel like perhaps he is more than just an entertainer, and had shown a deep interest in actually learning about policy issues. More in line of someone like Franken.

Al Franken was also a comedian. He was a smart congressman.

If only Al Franken had 26 women accuse him of sexual harrassment he might still be a senator.

It’s as if that’s why Timex picked him as a point of comparison.

I added that second paragraph a minute after the first part, as an afterthought, so it may not have been there when rich responded.

I was wondering how I missed that.

This is super interesting.

My first take on this decision was that Parler’s board was angry at Matze for his stance on moderation.

But then I came to the realization that this was probably more about the fact that Matze had no plan at all to recover Parler in case he was shut down by his vendors. I mean it’s such an obvious thing to assume is going to happen at some point, so the fact that the site is still not back up points to him being totally incompetent.

The Mercers don’t give a shit about Parler being a home for Nazis. They care about monetizing.

Don’t be daft. If the Mercers cared mostly about making money, they wouldn’t be dumping it into money pits like Parler, which is a very niche (and not attractive to advertisers) knockoff of a company that itself barely makes money.

What the Mercers care about is overthrowing democracy and then pulling the strings of the kleptocracy they install. They’re willing to devote some of their pocket change to that.

What they’re doing here is what they did with Cambridge Analytica. When outside scrutiny gets too hot, they point the finger at some fall guys, give them the push, and disappear into the background for a while. Then they re-emerge a few months later with a new scheme. “Hydra? Well yes, some mistakes were made there. The people responsible have been dealt with. But Hydra is the past. What we’re about now is an exciting new organization called A.I.M.”

Hey look, a High Crime or Misdemeanor.
