Songs that have lodged themselves into your brain

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi

Welcome to hell. The radio station that wakes me up every morning (as mentioned upthread) has been playing this crap every other day lately.

papa.

paparazzi.

Whenever anybody talks about the radio station alarm clock thing, I think of the film Moon.

“I am not the same as all the rest.”

If you like it then you should have put a ring on it, all the single ladies…

I think our gym has this song on loop. And then it was on Glee. ARGH!!

Pffft… amateurs.

Tell me about it. I couldn’t stop humming to it at work last week. Seem to be doing okay this week.

Oh hey, wow, remember this thread?

Right now I’ve got Zombie by The Cranberries doing rounds. God help me, if there’s one thing I know about this song, it’s that I’m going to be forced to listen to two straight hours of progressive metal to cleanse my ear-palette.

It’s the same old theme since 1916.

and their bombs
and their bombs

Yeah, I remember it.

Last few days it’s been Desperadoes Under the Eaves by Zevon. Great song, but it gets old after a while…

And if California slides into the ocean
Like the mystics and statistics say it will
I predict this motel will be standing
Until I pay my bill.

Lately I’ve been getting “I Am The Fly” stuck in my head:

I am the fly
I am the fly
I am the fly
I am the fly
Fly in the
Fly in the
Fly in the ointment

Over and over for hours. Or “No Thugs In Our House

No thugs in our howwwse
Are there dear?
We made that clear
We made little Graham promise us he’d be a good booooy

Those are OK, great songs, classics even. But then sometimes I get:

Doo doo doo doo, doot doot, doot doot
Can’t touch this
Doo doo doo doo, doot doot, doot doot
Can’t touch this

That’s not so good.

You call progressive metal an ear-palette cleansing?

Like steel wool.

I’ve had Daddy Cool’s cover of “Baby Let Me Bang Your Box” wandering in and out of my head for the last week or so. Don’t sing this to yourself in public.

Kerzain, think of this lyric and all Zombie memories will disappear.

“Do you have to let it linger, linger…”

You will still have a cranberries issue, but at least it’s a better song.

robsam, you’re a dream to me, dream to me.

I finally saw that about a month ago & loved the soundtrack. I didn’t expect it to be one of those movies. Amazing film—but now back to the Music.

My earworms of late have been mostly from the Arcade Fire [ever since they played a concert here the other week], switching around from Rococo to Black Wave/Bad Vibrations, Neighborhood #3 (Power Out), & No Cars Go. Today, however, has been a day of Cotton Mather’s Homefront Cameo. It’s those hummable melodic refrains. I can’t bike anywhere without starting to hum them.

SPIN TO WIN
