Songs that have lodged themselves into your brain

The Shins, Kissing The Lipless http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMzKgB1cf24&ob=av2e

I heard this on some internet radio station, loved it, downloaded the track from the band’s label (Subpop). I must have listened to it like 20 times in one day and many times for a few weeks after. Bought the album shortly after and it sucked. This was the only good track on it. But damn, what catchy song, I still love it!

And currently it’s THREE tracks from the latest Church album:

Deadman’s Hand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UbfjU2m7hw

Anchorage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMu-saOHbJw

Operetta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dGKcQiEO-c

I love The Church, been listening to them since 1985 but their albums are always hit & miss - a few great tracks with some mediocre stuff and one or two poor tracks. But here they are, over 25 years into their career and releasing some of their best music (the last three albums have been excellent).

Screw it, one more Church song that I can’t get out of my head!

Lately, Shop Vac will not get out of my head and I can’t stop singing it. I think my family is going to kill me.

“'Cause the other one’s not as good.”

Bastions Set Sail, Coming Home has Really lodged itself in my head these days.

Been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding;
The cretins cloning and feeding;
And I don’t even own a TV…

Howard Jones - No One Is To Blame.

No one, no oooooooooone, no one ever…graaaAAAAAH!

Remember, we built this city…

Things can only get better Raife.

Radiohead: Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

Ha ha ha jerk. I think I must have heard it as muzak somewhere.

Oh YEEEEEAAH
All RIIIIIIIGHT

Are you going to be in my dreams

TONIGHT

They say you got a boyfriend
You’re out late every weekend
They’re talking about you
And it’s bringing me down

I will now attempt (and likely succeed) in getting a song stuck in your head, provided you are old enough.

“Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.”

I’ve always found that a sure fire way to remove a song from my head is to think about or listen to the song Low Rider by War. The downside is that Low Rider will be stuck in my head for about 30 minutes, but then it goes away.

I just started DMing module 3 of the 2nd Pathfinder adventure path, Escape from Old Korvosa. Ever since we started that module the theme from Escape from New York has been stuck in my head. Going on a week now. It’s crazy. It just plays in my mind all day and makes me feel like a badass walking around the streets.

Heard this yesterday, have been unable to purge it since.

All the other kids with the motherfucking catchy pumped up kicks. Remixed.

So that’s how you dance to dub…

lately, for me, it’s been the theme to fraggle rock, and a bunch of the music of the yo gabba gabba with wierd al in it.

having a toddler really messes you up.

Normally I hate songs that do this, but this is an undiscovered gem from my own collection. DOOM and Vast Aire give you Da Superfriendz. Finally, I found Daniel rapping over Fire Water, which is arguably the best beat he ever cooked up.
