However, one issue has persisted through the format/fresh install: sound stuttering. In games, iTunes, Media Player – anything that has audio, really – the sound stutters every minute or two. Diagnosis? I’m guessing the onboard sound card is going. If that’s the case – pardon my ignorance – am I going to have any issue just buying a new sound card and installing it? Or do I pretty much need to grab a new mobo?
No, just grab a new sound card. If you’re going to shell out get the X-Fi XtremeGamer one, it seems to be the most recommended for gaming.
