South Korea builds world's smartest robot

And he’s a cute little guy too!

A.I that learns? No way , that’s just too hard to do. They should have just given him a better looking body.

I think he looks awesome.

That article is such bullshit. Just because it is a networked computer, the reporter buys the bullshit that the robot is now the most advanced computer in the world.

No, it’s the smartest robot. Which I think is a fair claim… the computer is basically part of the robot, it’s just a seperate part. Robots are allowed to have seperate parts.

Awesom-O!

Awesom-O!
what.

Doesn’t he look a bit like Twiggie from Buck Rodgers?

Awesom-O!
He’s from Japan!

If he goes BIDDYBIDDYBIDDY, I’m on the list.

Yeah. The only thing I can see coming out of this is a huge rush to be the first to hax0r ol’ Twiki there.

Awesom-O!
He’s from Japan!
He’ll… give us ideas for new movies!

(And be our best friend.)

The article is almost completely information-free. It may be the smartest robot in the world, but it’s not the smartest reporter  .

Awesom-O, are you a pleasure robot?
. . .
WEAK!

Awesom-O!
what.
ASIMO. You know, that robot that Sony built? Anyone? Uh, never mind, then.

ASIMO sucks compared to this one. And I didn’t pick up on the auditory cue because I don’t read forum posts aloud usually.

There’s also the fact that Awesom-O isn’t a reference to ASIMO. It’s a reference to South Park. Maybe the South Park guys stole the name, though.

Can you explain it then?

SPOILERS AHOY!

Quick South Park synopsis:

Cartman dresses up like a robot and gives himself to Butters so Butters will tell him all sorts of embarrassing secrets. In so doing, we find out that Butters has a videotape of Cartman dressed up like Britney Spears and singing to a cardboard cutout of Justin Timberlake in his backyard. In order to get his greasy mitts on the incriminating tape, Cartman is forced to continue his masquerade as the Awesom-o 4000 long after it stops being fun.

Butters and his new robot go to LA to visit his aunt, and while on a tour of a movie studio the studio execs see crowds forming around the likeable Butters and his robot pal. Naturally they decide to hire the little robot to think up new movie ideas for them. Butters takes the piles of money and sends it to third world children.

Word spreads of the movies studio and their new robot pal, and the military industrial complex in the form of some generals and Mr. Scientist, decide to kidnap the robot, reprogram it, and use it for military purposes. They do so, but just before the giant drill rips into Cartman’s head, Mr. Scientist has a change of heart because that darn robot seems to have become a person, and reprogramming it would be killing the first true artificial intelligence. A shootout follows, Mr. Scientist is killed horribly, secrets are revealed, and we end the episode with the entire town of South Park smiling and laughing as they watch a tape of Cartman cavorting as Britney Spears.

Cartman: Weak.

ASIMO is Honda’s robot.

QRIO is Sony’s.
