[Mild spoilers]

Yeah I’ve found the trading to be a lot more entertaining than the combat. As you said, it just happens too fast. Nevermind when you come across some of the alien pirates. With a large freighter I could handle the occasional attack by pirates when I’m doing my runs, but the Hai Unfettered attack with such huge fleets that I’m basically like “Oh look, some ba-” boom! “Well! Time to take a break, I guess.”

But I guess I’m a sucker for how easy it is to just grab a couple jobs and plot a trade route and just zone out as the ship basically flies itself. I really dug the game hard for a couple days. It reminded me to go back and check out how far along Starsector has progressed.

Brian -

I’ve been thinking of returning to The Last Federation, and I see some new DLC dropped today. Have you looked at it? Is it worth getting?

The base game lost be after a while, it was too scattered and I felt like I was spinning my wheels. I’m gonna return to it now that this expansion is out.

I didn’t like its turn based approach, it’s more a bullet hell game than anything else

I wish the space combat in Endless sky had been more like the battle station harbinger iOS game. Slower with more tactical thinking than just pure twitch

Well look what just popped up on Steam, 1993’s Starlord:

I somehow completely missed this when it came out, so I’m excited to give it a run.

Wow. I remember this from way back. Let us know how it goes!

Played this a ton in the late 90’s early 00’s. The AI is brain-dead, ,but its the only space-feudal game I’ve played that actually had a feudal feel :) So that alone made me enjoy it as a story generator…

Star Lords is more or less Moo 0 and was made by Steve Barcia and Simtex before Moo.

It was also free to download back then.

No, I recall seeing it for sale in Babbages.

The developers let it be free for download after some time. Here

edit: Okay, that is weird - That is Starlords and the game on steam is Starlord. Sorry!

Oh riiiiiight. Forgot about that one.

Hey folks, I try not to pimp too hard around here, but I think the developer of The Final Frontier, who we’re having on the podcast tonight, I think wants to do some kind of key giveaway on the show. Here’s the game:

Here’s where the podcast will be:

And it’s at 5 PM Pacific tonight. Hope to see you there!

Is it an indie game? Why do indie devs insist on multiplayer only games, they are either a hit or miss and generally end up void of life a few months after release.

I’m not 100% it’s MP only. :/

Has anyone been toying with Space Engineers lately, since they added planets to the mix? Thinking I may end up back there at some point. I’ve been watching a little mini play through from direwolf20, and it seems like the game is much more “gamey” then it was the last time I tried it. Anyone have any input?

I started the tutorial but haven’t gotten any further than that.

Hey folks, I try not to pimp my own stuff too much in here, but I had a cray cray experience in Jumpgate this past weekend and wrote a thing about it, so I hope y’all don’t mind me sharing it here. Thanks!

Jumpgate Nearly Killed Me This Past Weekend…

Heh, pimp away, I always think of this as the Brian Rubin thread anyway! :)

Hah, I know, I just don’t wanna be that guy, you know?

Hey friends, a public service announcement if you don’t mind. GOG is currently having a sale on all of their Star Wars games, and they currently have a bundle specifically with the X-Wing games for what might be their best price yet:

We regularly play multiplayer X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and Alliance via GameRanger, and this Friday we’ll be playing Alliance. You can get the details here:

We’d love to have you join us, maybe even get a full house of 8 players. :) If you wanna join in, lemme know and I’ll add you to the list. :) Thanks!
