The matchmaking is kinda borked at the moment so consider yourselves duly warned.

Watching you do the Battlefleet Gothic tutorial. I found it confusing in many places, but thought it was just me. You seemed to struggle with the same little things I did though, so I feel a little better. They could certainly make things clearer.
Title should be Waaagh! Unless, it’s an expression of frustration with the game. :D
Hi,
Just saw this on Steam. Ceres. What’s Mr. Rubin take on this? And any other who had a go at it?
When I first played it, it was a fairly buggy mess with a ton of potential to mix Homework and Starfleet Command style gameplay together. The Dev has been working hard on it, and just released a massive UI update to it that I need to try. I actually enjoyed it a great deal when it worked. I’m on my phone so I can’t look easily, but I did cover it on my YouTube channel.
Oh, that was easier to find on my phone than I thought.
Let’s Play Ceres: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6K1_LepsaN9tBZbBF-HX5qVL9YZGglH2
I really hope you mean Homeworld, because otherwise you’re not really selling the game all that well. ;)
Gah, yes, sorry, Homeworld. Stupid autocorrect on my phone. I can’t edit the post on my phone because, for some reason, trying to edit a post on the mobile site always causes it to be deleted. So. Frustrating.
Looks quite fun if they got those bugs worked out
Amazing the amount of effort you spend to educate! Thanks for the dedication!
You’re very welcome, I just wish I had more time to devote to every game.
I’m halfway through the Vendetta Online podcast with John Bergman. Really great stuff!
I had to laugh out loud at the silent drama unfolding during the first half just as security was being discussed. It looks like our guild’s reports of [ONE] engaging in piracy aren’t completely unfounded after all. His commander is going to want to know about this; killing a neutral-aligned UIT pilot in an ion storm is going to be hard for him to spin.
Yay, thanks for listening!
Hey guys, really fun Escape-Velocity-Meets-Indiana-Jones-Adventure-Game game 3030 Deathwar hit Steam today!
It’s a ton of fun, at least the pre-Redux Steam version was. :)
Escape Velocity you say…hmmm
/runs off to Steam page
So you guys…Starflight - The Lost Colony.
I’d been honestly avoiding this because, I thought to myself, “How good can a fan-made Starflight game be? Certainly not as good as the originals.”
I was wrong.
When I loaded it up for the first time, and heard the new, near-orchestral version of the original Starflight theme song…I had tears, you guys. Freaking. Tears. The folks that made this game get it, and clearly they loved Starflight at least as much as I did, if not more.
It’s free, it’s great. Check it out.
Weird. They say it’s available under the GPL, but they provide no source code. That conflicts with the GPL. o.O
Hello my friends, and welcome to another awesome week of space gaming! I was unable to make any new content last week, sadly, so I’m trying to make up for this this week! ;) First up, in my continuing look at the Starflight series, I take a gander at 1993’s Protostar: War on the Frontier, the unofficial Starflight 3. Then, I follow that up with a look at the fan-made Starflight - The Lost Colony.
Coming back to the present, I dive into Battlefleet Gothic: Armada for an unforgivingly mediocre time. Finally, I spend some fun time with the FTL/Homeworld mashup, Nomad Fleet.
On Tuesday’s podcast, at 5:30 PDT, we’ll talk to the developer of the recently-Kickstarted Stellar Tactics. Their KS campaign shut down this weekend, so it’ll be interesting to talk about that.
On Thursday, again at 5:30 PDT, I’m trying something new: I’m letting you choose what I play, so head over to the site and vote in the poll!
Thanks folks!

This, combined with the news that they’re adding the Tau, made me pull the trigger on Battlefleet Gothic. I don’t think it’s like Homeworld at all, to be honest, but the Starfleet Command comparison strikes me like a good one (emergency turns, weapon arcs, priority targeting, etc.), though there are significant differences too. I also like the campaign system and the solo skirmish system were you level up an admiral of your choice (sort of like Legacy of the Void co-op).
Since the game’s been quite successful, I think Tindalos will support the game for a while, too. That’s good considering what happened to Etherium…
@Brian
I voted for Space Marine, but my second choice would be The Tomorrow War.
