Hey, FYI folks, remember the amazing game Jumpgate? Well, if you didn’t hear, it was somehow resurrected a while back, and for free, and it’s still awesome despite the fact that so few people are playing it, but hey, free right?
Well this weekend they’re having a big mining event in the game, and I hope to be there for a bunch of it, so I hope you’ll join me in-game if you can. My handle is Veloxi, and I should be on Friday and Sunday a bit. Hope to see you there. :)

Jumpgate! Wow, that’s a blast from the past. How’s it doing compared to something similar like Vendetta Online? I haven’t revisited VO in a long time either.
VO is still undergoing active development, as is about to likely get a massive boost in players due to VR support, arriving on Steam and so on.
Jumpgate, since it’s kind of been reverse engineered, is kinda stuck where it is developmentally, but it still holds a special place in my heart. I’ve played both, and while I like VO, it’s no Jumpgate.
Starpoint Gemini 2 is on offer. Quite a big offer.
I bounced off the 1st one. Is the 2nd one worth a try? Startpoint Gemini Warlords may be launching soon, which will explain the sale.
SG2 is a lot better than 1. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though it can become a bit grind-heavy. One of my favorite parts of it, though, was the music - and I’m not sure if the music in Warlords is as good.
Gameplay wise, though… it seems Warlords will surpass SG2 in nearly every level, so not sure if it’s worth buying at this point. Perhaps so.
I haven’t wrangled someone else into playing co-op with me (which is really how this is meant to work), but it’s terribly terribly charming, seems well-designed, and was basically fun (if sometimes frustrating) solo, so it’s worth a look!
In that case, I think I’ll give it a miss. Thanks!
Sweet lord. It’s like someone ate a six pound bag of Skittles and then threw up in my eyes.
Wishlisted.
I think it’s still available in Humble Bundle 17, if you act quick enough.

I found combat and ship upgrading to be obtuse and just unfun, Rebel Galaxy is just a better game in every way. There is even a new star point now, warlords, it’s a messy, early access title sadly. Again combat is just messy, ranges can be long, you can’t see properly and you got no tools to magnify or properly aim with, a mess
OMG YOU GUYS OMG. I am so super excited. For eons now I’ve had trouble capturing one of my all-time favorite games, Jumpgate. The only way I could properly capture it using OBS was in a window using a program called DXWnd, and even then, it was only a 800x600 window.
Welp, tonight, after playing with DXWnd a bit, I was not only able to get it running in a window, but in a window big enough for me to actually use and see stuff on my primary monitor, with no flickering or anything!
I am so, so, so silly super excited about this. Now I feel ready to dive back in for the big Mining Days event this weekend. Yay! :)
Objects in Space has a couple new videos on Youtube:

Space Game Junkie sidekick to the rescue! I guess @BrianRubin is too mesmerized by his Roland MT-32 to keep up with the space game news and info… ;)
I do my best man, but I always appreciate the help.
Any chance the people behind Objects in Space will join you in a podcast or something? Also, are you in a secret alpha for them or something? Because I remember you being really excited about the game!
I’ve asked them twice and they said they don’t feel ready yet. I don’t wanna be pushy.
So wow you guys, the original Master of Orion is pretty damned great. I love sliders. Seriously. Love.

That is strange; sliders usually do not agree with older folks!
Yes, that was bad of me :)
One thing I really miss about living in Los Angeles is the lack of White Castle restaurants.

They sell White Castle sliders at our grocery store (no actual locations down here in SC either).
