They’re not the saaaaaaaaaaame.

There is a Whitey One Bites that is about a block and a half from where I live. Pass it every day going to and from work, and most days on my run.

In the two and a half years I’ve lived there I’ve not gone once.

@BrianRubin, when are you going to setup a Patreon to buy Freespace?

Maybe Derek Smart will buy Freespace this time, like he said he would not too long ago.

Star Citizen could buy Freespace!

I hope Nordic buys it. Seriously.

I would be perfectly OK with that. Nordic (well, THQ Nordic now) has been doing a lot of things right lately.

Are you joking? I hope Revival buys it, and stat. That’s most of the original Freespace team right there, and Matt Toschlog has mentioned that if Overload is a success they’d move onto doing a spiritual Freespace 3 game next (except without the IP which Interplay owns and… OH WAIT!). Of course, Nordic could buy it and then get Revival to develop it, which perhaps would be even better. So never doubt the Rubin!

Exactly, they’ve been treating a lot of older IPs with a lot of respect.

That would also be excellent, but I figured they:

  1. Are busy with Overload.
  2. Don’t have the resources to put toward it that Nordic would, let alone purchase it.

But I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

It would be post-Overload (release early-mid 2017), but clearly they want to do it and have the ideal team for it. As for funding, obviously they’d go the Kickstarter route if they did it themselves, and while it would probably be successful, presumably Nordic could put a lot more funds into it. So yeah, Nordic buys it, contracts Revival after Overload, and we can all be happy. We deserve some happiness, don’t we?

God damn motherfucking right we do.

Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander has released, someone play it and make a forum thread.

I’ll be doing a LP series for H6 next week, can’t wait. The early access version was a ton of fun.

Never heard of it, but the trailer looks cool. I need to read more before tomorrow.

Hey Brian. Do you have any opinions about Vendetta Online as it is right now? I have it but never played it. Thinking of jumping in.

It’s pretty fun, and they’re updating it all the time. I still like Jumpgate more, but VO is a solid game.

A friend of mine played it and streamed it for me. If you like classic JRPG style combat then this game offers it in spades. IF not… Maybe give it a pass

I am having a little problem with the UI in particular selecting fleets to send on the mission. It seems a bit convoluted. I am also having a problem getting more officers to put in ships. At the moment I have to find a ship with an officer and remove them to let them start building on the star base. I see no way to simply click on an officer to switch their role.

It looks like I need to build an academy to recruit more officers but getting everything set up for it is a bit of a pain so far. I suppose as I play it more it will become more ingrained the various steps using the UI.

Drops in 30 minutes! Impressions? Looks good in the LP videos from 3 days ago.

Is good, you buy.
