KSP maybe?

Re Pax Nova - I know it’s not entirely fair and that they do publish good games, but when I see a game is published by Iceberg my immediate reaction is ‘urgh, another middle of the road title’ and lose all interest in it.

I hope to get a key for Pax Nova this week, so I should be able to report back soon!

Oh nice Brian ty. There is something about that one that seemed better than average. SamS (above) really has a good point.

Yes I agree.

Interesting question. I’d take both :)

Not enough space in this!

I had thought so. It’s on my list.

Well, for spaceships, you have stuff like:

  • Kerbal Space Program
  • Children of a Dead Earth
  • Independence War 1 and 2

For individuals, you have:

  • Hellion
  • Breathedge

Welp, just got a key for Pax Nova. I’ll try to dive in tonight if I can tear myself away from Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. ;)

Hey, at least it isn’t Parkan 2!

You’re just jealous you’re not as well loved the world over as much as Parkan 2.

Welp 30 turns in, Pax Nova is neat. There are many factions already, plus you can create your own, and there are many victory conditions as well. It kinda pulls a Civ on you by allowing you to choose where your arc lands for the best resource tiles.

I also always like having to research a language before being able to talk to an alien race.

It also has several paths you can excel in, based on what you build and research, such as enlightenment and what not, which is neat. Still on the planet, so it’s still quite Alpha Centauri-ish, but I like it.

So far, so good.

Lone Echo, but it’s VR only.

I looked at a gamplay video and was intrigued. But from what I saw you have Civ style planetary development/combat along with space exploration combat. It seems to me that it would get very tedious having to develop a planet Civ style - the planets seem pretty large with lots of tiles. I’m not sure how they balance that all that.

Me neither, haven’t even touched space yet. Maybe they let you automate stuff at a certain point.

Maybe there is some sort of Holmes IV AI research that could run everything. The AI would naturally be called Mike.

@BrianRubin and @NuclearWinter Thanks! Breathedge and Hellion are completely new to me.
Lone Echo looks really cool as well, but yep, VR only is a problem.

Always happy to connect gamers to games. :)

TY Brian. You know there aren’t many space games that have a complete space game part and a ground battle part. EFS did but it was a weird mix. BTW we were talking about music scores in Tom’s stream … my recollection was that that game (EFS) had a great score. (“Emperor of the fading suns”)

EFS has one of my favorite soundtracks ever. I still listen to it regularly.

BTW Fading Suns fans might like to know a new Noble Armada is on the way.
