Even alpha is meant to be ‘feature complete’.
With early access being so common, the whole alpha/beta thing is just marketing now. It’s lost it’s development meaning in the gaming.
The ‘standard beta’ ($75) for Elite: Dangerous releases on July 29th. I’m tempted, at that price point—it looks like it’ll scratch the open world itch, and it’s also a lot further along than Star Citizen.
Just in time for the Oculus Rift DK2 as well.
Is all good, my good sir! A one man task, especially a guys labour of love, probably won’t have a lot of scope post release to fix stuff (i figure Josh will need a break from LT to recharge and maybe he will go on to more study or be in demand etc?), so better he makes it as ‘good’ as it can be. I’m just very, very happy about the new addition of a scripting language to help mod the game, that will give it huge legs and who knows what modders could do to improve and fix stuff Josh never had time to get around to?
