Sad there is no Limit Theory update for this month, but we have been promised a awesome update next month to make up for it.

Also , Starpoint Gemini 2 has a new cinematic trailer!

Does anybody remember the game Entropy? Has anybody here actually played it? I thought it looked interesting when it came to early access, but initial reaction was that the game was pretty limited (makes sense, early access). Just wondering if anybody knows how its looking now.

I recall wish-listing it awhile back, then removing it as I had not heard anything about it in like half a year. I checked the Steam forums and its being worked on, last update was in June.

Wow, I completely forgot about that game.

The ‘there is no monthly update’ update! for Limit Theory:

Hope Josh is not putting too much pressure on himself…and i agree about not doing a video update if he was not happy with the state of things, better to do a good one than a bad one.

He isn’t, he mentioned somewhere along the way he took a 2 week vacation, and not enough was done to make a decent video for the month.

Lords of the Black Sun is out on Steam - seems to be a TBS 4X - anyone know anything about it?

It had a name change, but we’re discussing it here:

Thanks, Brian!

I saw the Starlords thread and was wondering how two 4X games came out - I do not see the Stalrords name on Steam.

Starpoint Gemini 2 is on sale at GamersGate (and Steam) for $15. I also have a 20% off coupon at GG. From prior questions people seem pretty positive about it. My question is this…

I am one of the few people who didn’t like Sid Meier’s Pirates for more than the first few hours. I found the game repetitive and kind of boring after the initial excitement wore off. Is Starpoint Gemini cool in a similar kind of way so if a game like Pirates! didn’t keep me interested then a game like Starpoint Gemini 2 likely won’t either? Does it have an open word that may seem fun to explore, but then you realize you’re doing the same things over and over - without much variation? I’m curious because on another forum someone compared it too Pirates.

It’s Freelancer and Starfleet Academy’s lovechild. The open nature means it could be compared to Pirates, sure.

Now just get the fucking thing. ;)

Bought it yesterday because YOU recommended it. ;)
After 2 hours, still trying to work out the mechanics. But it is fun indeed!

Starpoint Gemini 1 or 2, Brian? 2 is in early access, how is the state of the game?

The state of the game is pretty damned awesome. Spent about 2 fun hours with it yesterday alone.

Oh, and 2 of course. The first game can be safely ignored unless you’re some weird completest that has to own everything. ;-)

Is it true that the final release version of Starpoint Gemini 2 will contain dancing sequences?

I bought Starpoint Gemini 2 on Brian’s recommendation to ease my Elite: Dangerous envy. I agree that the game in its current state is great, but more content, including a campaign, is to come apparently.

When I first got it (August) I got bored doing Fedex type missions, but then I watched a few youtube vids and saw what is possible and this past weekend I jumped back in. Lots of fun, easily controllable with a keyboard, and targeting for combat can be easily automated with the F key for those of us who are old.

Warning though: progress is very slow going. Still, recommended, especially at the sale price.

This game deserves its own thread.

Did you try the new gamepad support too? It’s pretty good!

I don’t own a gamepad. Should I get one? Which do you recommend?

360 Gamepad is the one I have, and it’s revolutionized the way I play a lot of games. I’d say it’s a necessity these days for many games.

What did you see in it that changed your mind?
