I realized there’s a lot already in the beta that I had not experienced, including buying/using different ships and loadouts, dabbling in trade, different types of combat including use of turrets and stealth mode. It takes a while to get to some of this, but its already in the game even as more is added. I’d earlier assumed there was not much in the game. I was wrong.

This is the first of the tutorial videos that opened my eyes to what’s already in SG2. It was done in May, so may not reflect latest changes/additions.

Dude, I finally got a chance to try fighters. They are THE SHIT.

I don’t own a 360 or any console (well, we have an old Wii, but that doesn’t count). Anyone have recommendations for a non-360 PC gamepad that’s not too pricey?

I haven’t played that game in a minute. Sounds like I need to jump back in. I was planning on waiting until the game was “released”

I think the last piece to go in will be the actual campaign storyline. As much as I want to play now I am resisting until then.

In SPG2?

I don’t either, 360 works natively with Windows. Why is this even a question?

No need to be condescending. I know nothing about controllers or gamepads, and you recommended that SG2 be played with one. So I asked what, if you don’t have a 360, to buy. Why is that not a question?

Here ya go Tylertoo, cheap as I’ve ever seen it.

360 Windows gamepad @ Amazon.

Thank you. I had no idea you could buy them separately, but as I said, I’ve never had a 360.

I’m sorry man, I was hangry earlier, my apologies.

In other news, the M.O.R.E. folks launched a second kickstarter. That always rubs me wrong.

Brian, any thoughts about Habitat? Seems like a fairly new game: http://store.steampowered.com/app/299340/

It is interesting to me because it is about space and survival in a harsh environment.

I’ve not played it, so I can’t offer any, if I’m honest. :-\

The last federation is on sale on steam. Is it any good?

I didn’t like it at all, but to be fair I don’t think I put a large amount of effort into it. The combat was interesting for a little while, but it got repetitive to me very quickly. The correct weapon choice seemed obvious - like if the enemy has shields chose this weapon. The only really interesting choice was plotting the path your ship should take and using some power up type things.

Not to derail my previous question, but I just watched Total Biscut’s Video on Space Base DF-9
In short, the game is being abandoned. This really sucks. That kind of game looks REALLY awesome. If I were a developer of games looking for a project to do, then please rip-off space base df-9.

Why is it that games like these keep getting started, but never quite finished?

AM I right that Starpoint Gemini 2 comes out of EA today and is now officially cooked? Has anyone tried the campaign?

Nothing on the forums about SG2 coming out of EA yet.

General anger and bitterness on this at http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?73791-Double-Fine-s-DF9-space-station-game-announced-available-now-on-Steam-Early-Access

Seems to be scheduled for the 26th. Too… many… games.
