I downloaded it, started a game, and realized that setting up trade routes isn’t as easy as it appeared. I thought a $43 profit on my first run was pretty good, but then I had to spend $40 of it just to buy enough stuff to satisfy the political decisions.

I’m still not entirely clear on why I can’t fly from planet A to planet B, so I guess it’s time to RTFM. I neglected to mention that I’m a sucker for digital board games also, and this has a real board game feel to it, despite the 3-D map.

IIRC, a planet has to have enough “fleet” resources to be able to reach a specific planet, based on distance. If you don’t have enough fleet you can buy more I think.

Yeah, I’m just starting to grok that. If Planet B is 10 (LY? Parsecs? Kilometers?) from Planet A, you can’t travel from A to B unless A has at least 10 fleet resources. Is that it?

I’m also not sure I completely understand how combat works, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I barely touched combat last time I played so I can’t really comment, sadly. I’m also not sure what the fleet/distance ratio is. Hopefully the manual spells it out.

I listened to the Apollo4x podcast earlier this week, if my horrible memory serves me. It sounded very interesting. I’m not going to buy into early access for it, but I voted for it on Greenlight and it is on my short list of space games that I’m looking forward to.

Speaking of which… Brian, do you have any insider info about when the sweet, sweet digital honey of Enemy Starfighter is going to wind up on my computer?

Sadly I don’t, I believe it’s pretty much “when it’s done.”

Though I might be biased since it’s already on mine. MUAHAHAHAH I GOT MINE BITCHES MUAHAHAHAHAH

Sorry…dunno what came over me there…

No need to explain yourself, man. I’d act the same way if I could.

Hahahahaa, awesome. I honestly can’t wait for y’all to play it.

Who has two thumbs and just got a key for Rebel Galaxy? This guy! ;)

We’ll have Travis on the podcast tomorrow and I am SILLY EXCITED! Yay!

It’s REALLY fun and pretty and the music is amazing and yay!

Sonuva… I really need to start my own space game podcast.

Thats a really cool looking game. I’m looking forward to the podcast. I actually just listened to the GSB2 podcast today. Twice. I want to buy that one so hard.

I also do hope that Jim can somehow get cliffski and the Enemy Starfighter guy locked in a basement…

Please don’t, I don’t need the competition. ;)

Yeah, based on nearly an hour playing this early version, it looks to be damnes great.

I thought you were more of an Imperial guy! Such a turncoat. ;)

I’m listening to Brian’s podcast about this game. Sounds like he likes it. :) So how do we get early access to the beta? :)

Sorry, which game?

The rebel game I think

Er yeah, I meant Rebel Galaxy. It’s okay; I did listen to the entire podcast (and watched some of it), so I got a sense that you liked it a lot. Does look like it’s still a work in progress, though.

Oh yeah, it’s not gonna be released until well into next year, but even with one solar system, the game felt fairly fleshed out and busy.

Oh, and thank you for listening/watching!

One solar system does not a galaxy make.

Also, I keep reading that as “Rogue Galaxy.”

I keep doing that too, Gus, and also type it out that way as well, so I keep having to correct myself.
