This might sound random, but does anybody know if any games/mods for games were ever made based off of the short lived 90’s sci-fi on Fox called Space: Above and Beyond? I just got an itching to watch my DVDs again and it made me wonder about games.

Homeworld had a Space: Above and Beyond mod. I have vague memories of seeing forum posts about such a mod on other games (maybe sins of a solar empire) but a quick search reveals nothing else.

Any mention of Fractured Space (early access)?

Basically a moba with space ships.

Looks pretty interesting, but i worry about buying in to it when it is obviously still pretty early. Games like these are basically unplayable if there ends up being no community.

I’m going to take another look at Fractured Space when they get drop-in or autobalance added. From what I can see, it’s plagued with early leavers and results in a lot of extremely tedious 5v2s and the like. Once they get that issue sorted out I’ll consider it.

Yes, i saw this a lot even in the videos i watched and there was not even an AI player replacement.

The capital ships looked really cool though.

This reminds me of another space moba i used to play a while back, but that one was more a traditional moba with click to attack and 2d. This one looks more… space’y.

Excellent Brian! I’ll listen to the full thing later, but I’m so glad you sorted out the mystery of what happened to Mike Kulas. When he left Volition the news sank without a trace, which was pretty disappointing given his history in some of my favourite games. Pity to hear he left the industry entirely, but I guess he’s probably much happier now.

For the record, you didn’t sound too nervous. ;)
