He’s been updating his blog here and there, but there’s still not a ton of info. I liked the early version I played a while back, so hopefully this new one will kick ass.

Any more info on Battlefleet Gothic than RPS has given?

It isn’t even listed on the devs website.
http://tindalos-interactive.com/

But has been announced by Focus Interactive

Anybody have an opinion on Tindalos?

It’s by the same folks who did Stellar Impact. My interest couldn’t be lower.

Was Stellar Impact a BAD game, or just underpopulated?

Both.

Bummer, thanks for the info.

Well what do we have here…

Ipad? Ugh…why does it have to fit on an Ipad as well?

Because cashy money is why.

True - its just a tad annoying, since I can already see how shortcuts are being made for a game like this to fit onto all platforms. Great for Ipad owners, not so great for PC owners. Normally, of course.

The Ace Patrol games were fun if a bit simplistic, and they were equally cross-platform. I’m a bit concerned about the lack of actual gameplay in that trailer, considering that this is supposed to be on the verge of release. I have a feeling it will end up being SM’s spAce Patrol.

(See what I did there?)

Looks interesting. A lite 4X with involved turn based combat? I’ll try that…

Edit:

Check the screenshots. They give an idea (very loose, obviously) on how the game will play…

On first glance: yeah, I’m interested. Looks like a great game to play on my Surface, which is ok by me. Despite how BE was, I’m always looking forward to stuff from Sid.

They had me right up to the point where they mentioned Beyond Earth.

I thought I was watching the trailer for Beyond Earth. Definitely not a release purchase for me.

OMGOMGOMG

Thanks for making me spend money again. I wonder if XWA’s 3D accelerated mode is fixed.

Fixed as in it still looks crappy? Sure. ;)

There’s a mission in XWA where you are doing a cargo run for your family, and the starbase you are at gets raided by the Imperials. A ISD drops out of hyperspace and an officer announces the raid and that everyone needs to cooperate and at the time it was so utterly immersive and exciting. Such an awesome moment for me as a SW and space sim fan, and a great moment in general, because they bad guys aren’t after you, you’re just a merchant caught up in it all, something missing from many games were as the protagonist you are the sole reason for everything going on around you.

edit: oh, http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ won’t work, pity.

Just as well i still have the CD ;)

I’m a big fan of the scramble mission in one of the early battles. Of every single thing you do in that entire game, defending your cruiser from seemingly endless swarms of Imperial fighters is burned into my mind forever.

In all honesty, I try to forget the family missions exist. Most of them are downright painful. I get PTSD just from thinking about Zero-G Stormtroopers.
