The single player campaign has some very good reviews, but it is supposed to be quite short (I saw one estimate of about 5 hours).
I still haven’t seen anyone answer if you can single-player the multi-player missions.

What I gather at this point is that the game starts with a semi-long story primer tutorial. Once the player finishes that, they are at a hub point. At the hub the campaign can be played/continued solo or with “up to” 3 total players. Bots will be replaced by humans if other players join. The campaign is rumored to be short (I read about 10 hours).
Besides that, there are PvE co-op missions (not the same as the campaign missions) played in multiplayer or alternatively there is a PvP versus mode. I don’t know if playing the PvE missions can be done solo with bots.
Gotcha. Thanks for the scoop. Sounds fun to me!
Thanks to @Harkonis anf @Kadath for hanging out with me tonight to check out the coop campaign functionality in Kadath’s campaign progress. It’s generally well done, with the PS5 (me) to Xbox (Kad and I think Harkonis) cross play working quite well. It did take me two tries to join Kadath’s game server but it worked in the end. I will also say that the in game voice chat is fine but weird in that it drops every time you need to rejoin the host’s server, which seems to happen between mission loading screens. I’ll stick with Discord, I think.
Now need to try the PvE multiplayer “Operations”. I’m past the story point in the main campaign where the first one overlaps with the main storyline (“Inferno”) so I’m up for trying that one with others, maybe tomorrow. Anyone interested?
The game reminds me a lot of World War Z, with the zombie hordes replaced by Tyrannid hordes here. Makes sense, seeing its the same developer of course.
Its also got the little bit of akwardness in the its melee combat, in that it seems to push back against the player slightly, whenever you try to do something.
I find the controlscheme a bit off-putting as well, having to hit with the shoulderbuttons on my controller is weird. I guess its just something to get used to.
The game itself is pretty fun, and looks great and I can’t wait to try more!
My biggest gripe with the game is the bot AI, especially when it comes to any kind of defence mission. They just don’t do what even an idiot human would do, and it’s frustrating at times.
I do think doing th successful parry counter attack should give you some invulnerable frames as well.
Otherwise, I’m really digging the combat, which is 90% of the game.
Agreed 100%. Just from a movie perspective the horde has that vibe
I started on M/K and thought after some of the intro, that this lends itself better to a gamepad. But the gamepad felt worse? Definitely not a fan of the shoulder buttons for primary combat actions. Back to M/K!
Game looks great thus far.
Melee on a shoulder button does seem annoying. I assume that’s more Dark Souls influence on my action game. I’d probably put melee on X/square. Reload/interact on a shoulder button is fine. Maybe even put parry on B/circle but that’s fine. Let’s hope one of the “types” provide this option since they couldn’t be bothered with custom controls.
How is this still a thing in 2024. Implementing that probably would have taken less time than creating seven different profiles.
Man I love that game so much, even though I royally suck at it.
campaign down, now on to coop and pvp. Hit me up if you want me instead of an npc for your game.
I don’t know what the new subtitle means, but it sounds very Warhammer and I love it!
You’ll have to let the rest of us get the game first.
Me neither. I just like chainswords and I didn’t think I could make “chainswording” work as a verb. It sounded too much like 41st century Yahtzee.
Kadaku is the planet, apparently.
It’s an ugly planet, a bug planet.
Can I infer from this that the campaign is quite short?
8 hours or so for me
Looks like I’m waiting for a sale, then. :(
