Welcome (back) to mid 90s Quake, where aiming needs to account for lag.
Finally, what they promised to do from the beginning. Actually better, as this is Stadia Pro which allows 4k. Not to HRose it up but I always assumed that would be free in short order anyway.
Edit: Just tried to sign up, the free 2 months of Stadia Pro is not available yet. Should be available in the next 48 hours, per their blog. Also GSuite accounts don’t work, which is annoying in a very Googly sort of way.
So only 2 months are free?
For now, yeah. I expect this offer to remain forever. They just don’t have the free tier they promised ready yet.
Games included with Stadia Pro:
Destiny 2: The Collection
GRID
Gylt
SteamWorld Dig 2
SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
Serious Sam Collection
Spitlings
Stacks on Stacks (on Stacks)
Thumper

What are the current “free” games trapped in their server?

Am I reading this right that you can only play on mobile devices with this free offer?
Signed up. Got the free two months.
It works. Not much else to say. The game selection is pretty bare.
It worked for you? It still asks me for an invite code in the app and website.
So is Gylt any good then? And are any of the other games exclusives?
I linked the EG review, they thought it was pretty kewl. No other exclusives included in Stadia Pro that I can see.
Skip the invite code and choose continue.
Actually, looks like Spitlings is an exclusive also. Can’t find any reviews. It doesn’t look particularly promising, but you never know.

I don’t see any continue link. No invite code no workie.
Not sure what’s up then. I have Gylt and Destiny 2 added to my account. The only hiccup is that the app wants me to link a Stadia controller even after I told it to stop bothering since I’ll use my own controller.
Probably Google’s usual annoying staggered rollout. Took me like 6 months to get dark mode in iOS Gmail.
That’s the right price for me.
I’ve wanted to play GRID & Steamworld Quest too. Thumper’ll be interesting to see how it works streaming.
We don’t need to buy anything to use it in a browser right?
Just whatever console controller we’ve already got?
