You don’t need an $800 rig to play Destiny 2. You can build a worthy rig for under $500. Heck, you can play it reasonably well on any $500 laptop.

They’re radically different. In fact, there’s really no plausible way to comparing the two. For one thing GFN works with games you already own, and those which the publishers allow to be used on GFN.

To play 1080p at high quality you’re probably looking at like $500-$600, but then you also need to buy a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Remember this hypothetical person doesn’t have a desktop computer at all.

Right.

True PC Master Race Gamers know you need a RGB gaming mechanical keyboard for $100 and a RGB 100000 dpi gaming mouse to be competitive.

lmao! True dat. :)

Checking out Amazon you’re looking at around $130 for a decent 1080p 24" monitor and $35 for a basic non-gaming keyboard/mouse combo. 4k monitors start around $250. My estimate remains basically on-point.

Tried getting this to work on the desktop (after finally being able to sign up by hitting the enter button without inputting a key. Intuitive!) couldn’t get a game to load properly. Signed in on my iphone and it looks like you can’t play games on it? Is that right? What’s the point of the app then? Also no native ipad app. I hate piling on things the internet loves to pile onto, but this is a horribly run service. I’m convinced Phil Harrison keeps falling up in the industry because of his accent and height.

I couldn’t get Stadia to work with an adblocker installed. In the end I created a separate Stadia profile in Chrome and used that. It will also install a Stadia Chrome app which works fine.

I assume the iOS stadia app is a placeholder for when they’re allowed to run a different browser engine that will actually for them, or whatever it is they’re missing. They need more control.

Since Steamworld Dig 2 is free with Stadia Pro, make sure you play that if you haven’t already played it :-)

I signed up for the free Stadia Pro trial specifically so my buddy and I could check out playing RDRO together only to find out it’s…not included? The list of “Stadia Pro” games is pretty sad for $10 a month. Not at all worth it, I think.

Nothing is included, you have to re-buy your games unless it’s one of the ones rotating as “free”

Is there a good* Destiny 2 thread here? Search is coming up empty.

*Lots of posts, basically.

The main thread is here:

Stadia made a big announcement today.

You can now pay PUBG for free on Stadia Pro.

That’s awesome. I’ve heard good things about that game.

Then I wondered: is this the normal bot population I should expect, especially in a game that supports crossplay? I went back to the livid " PUBG on consoles" community on Reddit, where I learned something that Stadia’s PUBG build doesn’t communicate: you can’t join XB1 and PS4 instances unless you hook up a gamepad. It’s a reasonable limit in a world where mouse-and-keyboard players enjoy an assumed matchmaking edge. But why did I need to dig through angry Reddit posts to learn that, instead of getting a tidy, official notice within PUBG or the pre-game Stadia loading screens? Shouldn’t Stadia be eager to hide any evidence that its userbase is scant?

Seems like the addition of bots is a general change to the game, not something Stadia specific though. Seems odd to call it out specifcally for Stadia.
