I mean do you think schemes like this just invent themselves?
Just as a note for people unfamiliar with their awesome sales, the cheaper ‘warbond’ version is if you buy it with new cash, and the higher priced version is for people who use existing account value.
They added the ability to ‘melt’ your existing ships for account credit and then use that to buy other ships. The main purpose for this was to get people to go from like a $45 starter ship to a $90 upgraded fighter to $300 millennium falcon concept and on and on.
But at a certain point it kind of backfired when they realized people were just rolling their sunk money forward into the various new flavors or not buying new ships that aren’t in the game because they could roll their money forward later on. So they came up with preferential pricing for new cash.
