The spaceship Tetris is absolutely insane near the end there.

It really is. And it’s even more astonishing when you consider that it is 100% accurate. That’s precisely what has been happening, and is how they raised all this money without ever shipping a game - of any kind.

We know that Crytek created the early tech demos. They said so. Curiously, CIG/RSI didn’t make any moves to deny this in their court filings. Gee, I wonder why.

CIG filed a protective order yesterday. They know what’s coming. My take.

Protective Order motion

Memo in support of motion

Proposed order

Attorney Declaration

Well, one reason not to do so is so that it doesn’t crash before they get their due. Allegedly.

True. But I don’t think that matters, seeing as crash or not, there will still be recoverable assets to satisfy any judgement.

such as?

Not a snark question, I’m genuinely curious.

Giant office space doors, probably.

HDDs full of valuable .jpegs.

hahaha (narrator: sound of gatindahat laughing)

Assuming cry tek win, what do they get?

And where would that leave croberts?

There are 5 studios around the world. They have equipment, furniture etc. Also the Star Citizen and SQ42 IP are in fact worth millions in the right hands.

The companies would be bankrupt of course if they can’t pay the award. And assuming there are things discovered during the case which would enable Skadden to pierce the corporate veil, the creators (Chris, Sandi, Ortwin, Errin et al) would all be on the hook. And if they lose that battle, it’s bankruptcy.

I wrote a thread yesterday about the pattern ot lies that has dogged the project, and why CIG is feverishly fighting discovery at this early point.

Simpler times

Haha, awesome.

Stumbled over that while replaying U5 and getting addicted to it yet again.

Now to find that Word of Power…

I never realized that there was so much color in the non-C64 version of Ultima V. Looks a lot better than the version I played. I still have almost the entire game on VHS video tape! I should upload the victory and ask Lord British for acknowledgement.

He’s pretty active on twitter so should be easy enough!

By Ultima V I think the PC version had gone to full EGA, so it looks pretty good even with the original tileset. It’s also a relief not to be burdened with all the disk-swapping of the C64 version I played as a kid.
