I mean, on a certain level it is. They are good at doing the kind of marketing things that make them seem like a real company with a real game. If you haven’t followed the game at all and see that 3 minute little trailer you would assume that it is representative of an actual game you can play. That there are aliens in the game, that all those locations exist in the game, whatever that cool looking scanner ball is, that you can fly with a squadron and attack a fleet of alien capital ships, etc, etc, etc.
Of course, it turns out that it’s all just bullshot renders and the only thing actually in the game is the train tram at 2:10 into the video.
Of course, I am joking. They showed the train tram in their faked up demo yesterday. It isn’t actually in the game.
Dude, I totally want to see Dana Scully, Luke Skywalker and Commissioner Gordon fight freaky lizard aliens. If that just ends up being a movie-length cutscene, that’s ok too.
I’m waiting for the cutscene where Derek Smart gets ripped apart and devoured by freaky lizard aliens. I know it’s coming soon, just like Star Citizen…
Honestly if they dropped the fighting and make a walking simulator narrative experience… That would play to their strengths and probably be a fun time.
The CryEngine is 32-Bit. That’s the extent of that. Like most, you’re confusing a 32/64-Bit engine, with 32/64-Bit addressing. They’re different. They went to 64-Bit address precision because they needed to create large levels.
Just ignore everything Chris said at the show, and watch this impromptu interview that Brian Chambers - one the BEST guys they have - did with Angry JoeShow
Also @ 08:45, he says there are about 450 devs now working on the project.
