I meant to answer this. The “some dreamy day in the future” part of that one is that some smaller ships come equipped with food / drink dispensers (or with space to place one you purchase). And bigger ships have full mess halls which, once again, can be equipped.
And so, “one day”, you will not be relying only on food vendors for sustenance. You and your crew can share meals Firefly style in your ship. It is very much an aspiration. I’m not even sure the actual implementation in on the roadmap yet. So yeah. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Current food requirements are so slow they aren’t really an inconvenience though.
Are there space toilets, or is that still left to the imagination? I could see where they could pour a ton of resources into making fancy zero g toilets - could even get its own roadmap.
Personalizable poop, with multiple 3d models and textures available in the shop. Perhaps with a system whereby what you ingest affects the appearance of what you excrete.
What a missed opportunity for gameplay systems. You could take stool samples to monitor your health. Crew members could be assigned to clean and unblock toilets.
The next jpeg has dropped, which will no doubt make some here pop their monocle in outrage. An alien medium cargo ship for a fairly “reasonable” price (considering the size) of $225. I’m sure it will sell well because it looks quite different.
And yes, it comes with a toilet and… a scratching wall. The shape is quite cool though. Looking forward to trying it in game in a year or more… No need to buy it outside of the game, of course.
No outrage here, I find this all vastly entertaining. I definitely can’t argue with the value of an alien scratching wall. Definitely be super useful to have when the game has aliens in it. They are coming up in checks roadmap… sometime past the horizon of the roadmap.
Ah, it might not appeal to you, but that’s the raison d’être of Inside Star Citizen. It’s a weekly show that lets the designers and developers update the community on ongoing development. I thought the accompanying images of the ship were pretty cool though. Maybe it’s just me. I’m weird like that. :)
