If a couple people are bored with the pace and want to play lots of games, you could double-shift them on two different rows and have them play both schedules in parallel to get to 24 players.

I would put their alter egos on separate teams. That would be awkward if both teams make the playoffs, but it’s preferable to the advantage a team would get by cloning their best player.

But I’m also fine with doing something weird and new.

I don’t think that I ever thanked you for this idea, Thraeg! Now that we have 24 people, we can make six teams of four and not worry about it. But maybe next season we’ll need to do this.

On the luck of Gambit cards… Just started a game with a non-Qt3er I’ve been playing with (wish there was chat - we’ve played 5 or 6 games and I have no idea who he/she is!) and the other player got both the 8 Attack and the 8 Authority cards. I got “Reduce attack by 1” and “Put the target card from your discount pile on top of your deck.” A 16-point imbalance is going to be fun to deal with.

Good game, but I think I bungled it. I had a chance to scrap a base to get a bit more damage on you, but elected to keep it for more defense against your blue juggernaut. Of course, it turns out I didn’t need the extra defense that turn, and it was the very next turn where I got you down to 1. So, lesson learned.

I loved that game, Brakara. So damned close. If I’d drawn Megahauler/Flagship/StealthNeedle in any pair, I’d have won, but I only drew Megahauler.
