$7.50 today on steam. not sure if i want to bite though.
It’s really not all that horrible compared to a lot of stuff. When the user-generated content goes live it’ll be worth the money I think.
Right now if you play a character through it once, that’s about that. Nothing else to see. Some of it is definitely iconic, most of it is not. The new producer is a good guy though, they definitely deliver changes when they say they will. Good changes. Let my sub expire until the new user-generated stuff goes live though.
Don’t. It’s $5 on Amazon for the deluxe edition or $2.50 for the regular version.
whats the projected date on that?
The only reason I’d consider it on steam is for the Auto updating, I hate when I go to log on and the there is a 15 minute wait as the newest update rolls out.
UGC is planned for Season 4, its already on the test server.
It’s been in beta for a month. Works pretty well so I’m not sure why it isn’t live yet. Last I heard the end of the year but yeah…
Edit: Steam won’t auto-update STO, still have to use the launcher to patch. No, I don’t know why. I think most Steam MMO’s make you use the game launcher.

Are you allowed to talk about the new ground system and what is new about it? I still have my key I bought from the last steam sale but haven’t used it yet due to my backlog.
All we know for sure is there will be a new targeting system that’s more like an FPS instead of tab targeting. Pretty sure the ground system isn’t in beta yet.
And if they pushed the Foundry back to Season 4, that’s depressing. (FYI Foundry is the user generated content tools).
Don’t know about that, i remember like 4 months ago when i started playing it i had to download a 1gb update from the launcher because steam was out of date.
Yeah thats been fixed, or at least I will find out… I am downloading now…
The STEAM version came with 500 cryptic points , which isn’t mentioned anywhere on the steam site, so that there alone is a $6.25 saved , if you were going to buy points down the road.
Signed on tonight for a few minutes, and damn was Earth Spacedock full , the sales (between amazon and steam) must have generated some serious interest.
