But But But, using aux to dampeners and swooshing to line up a spread of quantums or photon torpedos from your giant space whale , is so beautiful.

I’ve switched my Mk XIIs from the Odd to my Sov, but what I gain in maneuverability I lose in that awesome Universal Lt. Commander slot, which I slotted a tac officer in.

It really bugs me that the “Assault Cruisers” in this game (the Sovs) only have support for a Lt. and Ensign tactical slot.

I agree. It makes me regret going Tac instead of Eng, because I like Cruisers, just don’t get the full value out of them as a Tac.

One thing I probably need to address is that I have skill points spread all over on my Admiral. Need to find some good Science builds to see what folks are using. I have High Yield Torp and Beam Overload at level I, will check to see what I need to swap out for level IIs.

This may have been previously answered, but can you have 2 consoles with similar bonuses or does the game only factor one console into the mix?

Thanks for the help.

I’ll probably switch back to the Odd. There’s nothing quite like being able to apply a steady stream of beam overload and high yield quantums. With the Odd, I’ve got two of each. With a Sov, only one of each.

Hopefully that much rumored +1 Odd shows up on the C-Store soon.

Then again, once I’ve gotten my cruiser fully tricked out, play time has dropped down. Played some ME2 to do some of the DLC I missed in preparation for ME3 in a few weeks, and now this new Civ V expansion has me playing more Civ V.

Probably a good thing STO is F2P.

I would never have gotten as far as I have in STO if it were not F2P. But that’s more my personal hang ups than anything with the game.

I forget the maths involved, but having more than 1 console reduces the next console of the same type by something like 33%.

So if you have a +3 shield power console, the second will be +2, and the third would be +1.

I appreciate the info. For those running the Cardassian missions, I just ran into a bug on the very last one. You need to guide your ship to a nav beacon in orbit around Bajor, but it is missing. From a couple of posts on the forums, it seems a few others have experienced this. The work-around seems to be to skip it and move on to the Borg episodes and wait for a fix.

What do Department Heads do on the Duty officer menu? Does it matter who I stick there?

I think its mostly cosmetic.

The new FE finally lets us beam down to Bajor, and it’s lovely! I hope it sticks around post-FE. Could use another planet.

Been trying to get a little back into this game, but I’m really daunted by the changes.
Duty officers, unlock packs cryptic points…

I got a lvl 37 guy, so I’m not totally new, but of these ingame purchase stuff, whats the ‘must haves’?

I found there was nothing along the way to making Vice Admiral that necessitated the purchase of cryptic points. A couple of times my F2P limited character inventory and bank space got tight, but found myself advancing through the ranks so quickly that it did not warrant keeping items for a rainy day. The free ships received at the various ranks were more than adequate for the PvE task at hand.

Jan…nothing. I just went 0-50 without spending a cent.

I’m at level 22 and a sucker for buying things and I still haven’t used the c-store. The only tempting thing is mirror universe uniforms for all my blonde skirt wearing female bridge officers! No one can resist the zapper! Bam!

can someone go through the alts and up their guild level so we can transfer equipment and creds to them? Thanks.

Nothing more rage inducing than dropping 300k in the fleet bank and my lowly…and should be rich…LT cant seem to find her debit card.
T’Chilla@BowZo

CJ Martin , you should have a fleet invite waiting for you when you log on.

I’ve bumped everyones ALTs up to MEMBER rank of the fleet, so you should be able to use the bank as intended now.

I could use a fleet too even if its only a little I get to play.

I bow to you Lordkosc.

So,I’m totally up for some Elite STF’s but I’m a bit afraid of doing them with a pug.
If anyone else is interested, I’d be up for a set time once a week or something.

Make sure to load up on Major and Minor Components from ESD or DS9. Need to repair battle damage in battle while on Elite. Otherwise, the damage adds up fast, and you’re a useless cripple.
