This is what I use.

The Advanced Heavy Cruiser and Advanced Heavy Cruiser Retrofit include a special Transwarp drive that lets these ships travel to multiple sector blocks throughout Federation Territory.

Players level 5 and above should report to Engineer Kani (in front of Admiral Quinn’s office on Earth Spacedock) for a mission to take one of the new Odyssey class ships on a shakedown cruise. Complete the mission to receive an Odyssey class ship of your very own.

When the Klingon Defense Force intelligence service alerted the High Council with Starfleet’s activities, they decided to launch their newest ship, the Bortas (Vengeance) class starship the same day. KDF officers level 21 and above should report to Engineer Tum’Era (in front of the Great Hall on Qo’noS) for a similar shakedown mission. Those who complete the mission will earn a Bortas class ship of their own to command.

Word is that a Odyssey +1 variant will be on the C-Store shortly afterwards. So, yes, you can get a free Odyssey, but the more powerful version will cost $$$.

Started this up last night and I’m really enjoying it. But I’m confused about the C-Store. I see uniforms, ships, and whatnot that all have a C-cost to them. Is the only way to get these by purchasing them from the store? Even if you have gold level do you really need to purchase such basic things as nifty looking uniforms (hilariously, the ‘cleavage’ choice is purchasable)?

And I keep reading that you can design the looks of your ship, but I can’t find any good documentation. In fact, as much as I like the game play (ground if fun if choppy and space combat is awesome) I have no real idea what I’m doing. But then that is part of the fun I guess because it is so unlike the other MMOs I’m actually having to think and figure things out.

As an aside…Man, is it strange to not have voicework for every NPC like that other Space based MMO I’ve been hammering away at for the last month.

They give you a decent number of free options, but the more exotic and popular ones are C-Store purchases. There is nothing in the game that requires you to buy at the C Store, but for the sexiest of ships, you may have to cough up. I bought my ships before F2P, so I don’t really know the details now. Some you can buy with in game currency Dilithium, some you can get with a free ship token as you level and some are CStore only.

Don’t rush, endgame is not nearly as fun as playing through the Episodes and Missions.

According to the EP, all ranks can earn the Odyssey during the event next week. The thing is, if you’re under Vice Admiral, you won’t be able to actually use it until you reach Vice Admiral.

And rather than an Odyssey refit in the C-Store, what it really sounds like is that the Odyssey will be free over that 4-day span to everyone who does the mission. After that, they put it in the C-Store.
