I find myself enjoying not the game so much itself, but the minigame in sending out my Duty Officers on missions constantly. Its what I log in for these days and I kinda levelled from 13-15 by it.
Now I wish for an app to access that part of the game!
You know Razgon, I get a big kick out of that myself. It’s one reason why I enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood so much too - it’s fun to send out your minions and see what they can accomplish. I was a little sad because I sent out two crew for some kind of treaty negotiation that ended in disaster, and one of them was killed. There should be a funeral ceremony like in Star Trek II for this kind of thing.
I find myself wanting an expanded DO system, as I mentioned on the previous page, and the resumption of Episode missions. I’m not much of a raid grinder or a PvPer. But a good casual game with some variety and depth hits the spot. Foundry and DOs cover much of this but there’s no substitute for a new monthly episode. They also spin off new assets people can use in Foundry.

Interesting that its a such a simple system that we respond to.
And yeah, I was dreaming some expended Duty Officer system up as well the other day, thinking it could be fun if I could somehow join them sometimes.
So is it wrong that I don’t even read what the DO mission is, and rarely pay attention to the rewards or basically anything else except how many resources they cost me…?
My main problem is that I don’t pay enough attention to what resources are needed and I all too often wind up 15k credits poorer because I didn’t look as I clicked away sending my DO’s off.

Thats probably why you are not a starship captain in reallife ;-)
That and we don’t have starships.
Regarding Duty Officers
Make sure you keep your 20 missions active as much as possible, this nets you the max XP per hour.
So if your outside of Earth Starbase, and you have say 11 missions offered accept them and assign officers.
Then warp out to sector space, and you will be offered more missions for your duty officers.
I’ve found this is the best way to keep 20 active duty officer missions running.
My Lt Cmdr 14 is ranking up around half a XP bar every 15 hours.
oh just incase anyone needs it and doesnt want to search back 20 pages, the skill planner has been updated since the F2P changes, and is VERY useful for maxing out a characters abilities depending on how you build your toon.

also the wiki is useful for questions about what does what…

Ok, finally got around to sinking a few hours into this. Lvl 6 Engineer right now and enjoying myself, at least so far anyway. If somebody could shoot me a guild invite (McKnight, USS Eire) that would be awesome.
We need your captain’s name and account name. I’m Duncan@balasarius. I won’t be on today, but anyone member or above can invite.
Ah I see, now I feel a bit annoyed at the fact I used a throwaway account name :)
I’m McKnight@shano418 then.
You’ll still show up in chat as just “McKnight”. I show up as Duncan and no one knows who I am. :)
What I want to know is who Jag is. Other than Jag. Every time I log in it’s “Jag’s put credits into the Fleet bank.” He’s like our Sheldon Adelson*.
*The guy singlehandedly funding the Gingrich SuperPac.

I also fund several small anti-government insurgency forces in a few Latin American countries.
I’d actually change that message but our Lord and Master has not given me that ability.
I thought I got rid of the Fleet MoTD because the bank was (mostly) empty of credits.
It seems like this game is down every other day for maintenance. Is it always like this?

Could be the influx of new players, but outside the first few weeks the game was out I don’t remember noticing much downtime.
